American group keen on Roma?

The Friedkin Group, an American consortium, is reportedly planning to invest in Roma.

According to Il Tempo, the company is about to start due diligence on Roma’s accounts.

However, it remains to be seen whether the firm plans to buy a majority stake in the club, work alongside the current ownership or simply invest in their new stadium.

The Friedkin Group made its fortune by distributing Toyota cars in five American states through 154 dealerships.

Zeman: This Roma belongs to no-one!

Zdenek Zeman has claimed that this Roma side belongs to ‘no-one’ and also hit out at Lazio for their lack of ambition.

Roma lost Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi over the summer, and Zeman feels his former club no long have an identity, pointing the figure at “whereabouts unknown” President James Pallotta.

“I think they will [return], but there must be the right conditions,” he told Il Messaggero.

“Francesco had to say ‘enough’ because they only used him for advertising purposes.

The agent went on a Twitter tirade aimed at Roma, President Pallotta, consultant Franco Baldini and new director of sport Gianluca Petrachi – all of it in Spanish.

Cassano: 'Lukaku money is madness'

Antonio Cassano believes €85m for Romelu Lukaku is “simply madness” and Inter should give Mauro Icardi to Juventus for Gonzalo Higuain.

The former Roma, Milan, Inter and Sampdoria striker was as usual forthright with his views on a variety of subjects when speaking to Sky Sport Italia.

“Inter have got a top player on the bench. Antonio Conte can get them closer to Juventus and genuinely challenge for the Scudetto.

Totti's toxic Roma divorce

After 30 years of commitment, Francesco Totti walked out on the Giallorossi amid bitter recrimination. Vijay Rahaman reflects on their ugly separation.

Most divorces are bitter and normally involve laying the blame at the feet of the other party, so Francesco Totti terminating his lifelong love affair with Roma was no different. In celebrity splits, there is usually one side that is seen as the ‘bad guy’ in the breakdown of their relationship and in this case there are absolutely no doubts who the love rat is. President James Pallotta and consultant Franco Baldini are the villains of the piece. That would make Totti the Jennifer Aniston, fitting as they did have similar haircuts in the 1990s.

Pallotta: Roma suing Totti 'dumb'

James Pallotta has hit out at a ‘dumb’ report that claimed Roma were planning legal action against club legend Francesco Totti.

Il Messaggero claimed on Tuesday that Roma were considering taking Totti to court for defamation as his Press conference would have caused ‘irreparable damage’ to their image in Italy and abroad.

However, Pallotta tweeted: “Not a chance. 100% false.

Sensi: 'My father's Roma ruined'

Former Roma owner Rosella Sensi said her “Father’s hard work has been destroyed,” suggesting President James Pallotta should “spend more time” in the city.

The Sensi family ran the capital club from 1993 until 2011 winning a Scudetto, two editions of the Super Coppa Italia and two Coppa Italia trophies during that spell – coincidentally the Giallorossi haven’t won anything since.
