Roma ran at 204m Euro loss

Roma have confirmed losses of €204m, the second highest figure in the history of Italian football after Inter’s €207m in 2006-07.

The statement was released via the Consob Italian consumers’ association for accounts up to June 30, 2020.

This also means the club had debts of €242.5m, an increase of €115m compared to June 30, 2019.

Soon after that period, AS Roma was sold to new owner Dan Friedkin and The Friedkin Group, ending eight years of James Pallotta rule.

Petrachi: 'Leakers are damaging Roma'

Former Roma director of sport Gianluca Petrachi said he was ‘abandoned by detached club owners’ and had asked to remove people ‘leaking or even inventing stories.’

The director was sacked following a blazing telephone row with then-President James Pallotta, who has since sold the club to Dan Friedkin.

He lasted barely a year at the Stadio Olimpico after he was poached from Torino, where he’d worked for over a decade.

Dan Friedkin to be Roma President

According to Il Tempo newspaper, Dan Friedkin and not his son Ryan will be the new President of AS Roma as of Monday.

The takeover from James Pallotta is on track to be completed on August 17, at which point a new Board of Directors will also be put in place.

It had been assumed for months that Ryan Friedkin would be installed as President, move to Italy and be a more hands-on presence in the day to day running of the club.

Now Il Tempo claims Dan Friedkin himself will be named President, but that Ryan will nonetheless be the one staying in Italy.
