Pallotta: 'Fonseca not in doubt'

Roma President Jim Pallotta has publicly hit out at reports coach Paulo Fonseca will be fired. ‘His future is not in doubt. He has my full support.’

Rumours emerged after the 2-0 home defeat to Udinese that Fonseca was up for discussion, even with suggestions Luciano Spalletti could return for a third stint at the Stadio Olimpico.

Pallotta took the rare step this afternoon of publicly denouncing the reports in the newspapers, taking to Twitter in order to make a statement.

Pallotta: 'Embarrassing'

Roma President James Pallotta was blunt and evidently displeased with the 2-0 defeat to Udinese at the Olimpico.

The patron had been negotiating to sell the Giallorossi this year, but the proposed takeover of Dan Friedkin reportedly fell through as the two parties weren't agreeing on the financial aspects of the deal.

After the latest sporting setback, the patron was blunt when the reporters asked for his opinion about the upset on Thursday night.

“An embarrassing match,” he said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
