Pallotta: 'Only the best for Roma'

Roma President James Pallotta says he will “only do what’s best” for the club after entering negotiations with The Friedkin Group.

Tycoon Dan Friedkin has been interested in Roma for quite a while and reports from Il Tempo and Leggo claimed Pallotta decided in favour of entering negotiations to sell the club for €510m.

Friedkin negotiating for Roma

Reports say Roma President James Pallotta is in talks to sell to tycoon Dan Friedkin and that their new stadium only needs mayoral approval.

Both Il Tempo and Leggo are expecting more developments in the coming days with regards to The Friedkin Group’s proposed takeover of Roma.

They claim Pallotta is currently negotiating the sale of his majority stake in the club, with La Repubblica adding it is valued by the American in the region of €510m.

Friedkin to buy Roma for €750m?

Roma’s potential buyers, the Friedkin Group, are carrying out due diligence of the club’s books, with a view to buying the club for €750m, reports Il Messaggero.

Rumours have intensified over the last several months that James Pallotta was ready to walk away from the club, with reports of interest from the same Qatari family that owns Paris Saint-Germain.

Recently it’s been reported that the Friedkin Group from the USA have shown the most concrete interest in taking over the Roman club, with Pallotta himself confirming negotiations.

Totti: 'No Roma return'

Francesco Totti has confirmed that he would not return to Roma if they wanted him back. "When I decide to go down a path, I finish it." 

Totti left in controversial circumstances over the summer, holding a press conference in which he took aim at the running of the club and President James Pallotta.

Speaking to Radio Radio, the 43-year-old admitted he would not entertain a second spell with Roma in their current guise.

Roma confirmed that they’ve established negotiations with new investors and James Pallotta has reportedly set an €800m price tag on the Giallorossi.

American group keen on Roma?

The Friedkin Group, an American consortium, is reportedly planning to invest in Roma.

According to Il Tempo, the company is about to start due diligence on Roma’s accounts.

However, it remains to be seen whether the firm plans to buy a majority stake in the club, work alongside the current ownership or simply invest in their new stadium.

The Friedkin Group made its fortune by distributing Toyota cars in five American states through 154 dealerships.

Zeman: This Roma belongs to no-one!

Zdenek Zeman has claimed that this Roma side belongs to ‘no-one’ and also hit out at Lazio for their lack of ambition.

Roma lost Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi over the summer, and Zeman feels his former club no long have an identity, pointing the figure at “whereabouts unknown” President James Pallotta. 

“I think they will [return], but there must be the right conditions,” he told Il Messaggero.

“Francesco had to say ‘enough’ because they only used him for advertising purposes.

Roma released a statement expressing their bemusement at continuing "increasingly bizarre" insults from agent Bayram Tutumlu.

The Turkish representative helped broker moves for Cengiz Under and Robin Olsen, is close to ex-Giallorossi director of sport Monchi and his nephew is the agent of goalkeeper Olsen, whose move to Montpellier broke down.

Agent tirade against 'lying' Roma

A war of words has erupted between Turkish agent Bayram Tutumlu and Roma President James Pallotta, who dubbed the furious representative “hilarious.”

Tutumlu helped broker the moves for Robin Olsen and Cengiz Under, and is close to ex-Giallorossi director of sport Monchi.

The agent went on a Twitter tirade aimed at Roma, President Pallotta, consultant Franco Baldini and new director of sport Gianluca Petrachi – all of it in Spanish.
