Pallotta: ‘I’ll fix the fountain!’

Roma President Jim Pallotta donates €230,000 to fix a fountain after jumping in to one last night - “don’t jump in a fountain unless you want to fix it…”

The American owner was overcome with joy after beating Barcelona in the Champions League last night, and was filmed taking a dunk in one of the city’s fountains.

Raggi: ‘Roma stadium will succeed’

Mayor Virginia Raggi sees the Stadio della Roma as “a great opportunity to relaunch Rome’s economy” and assures “we’ll succeed”.

The Giallorossi are looking to get final approval to begin construction on a new arena in the Tor di Valle area, and today officials from the club met with the city’s mayor.

Roma have stadium meeting

Roma President Jim Pallotta and others met with the mayor of Rome, Virginia Raggi, this afternoon to discuss the new stadium.

The Giallorossi are planning to build a new arena in the Tor di Valle area, but haven’t yet been given the green light to begin construction.

The American owner yesterday set a summer deadline for definitive approval, warning they “can’t keep spending money” with no return.

Pallotta: ‘I hope Juventus go through’

Roma President Jim Pallotta hopes Juventus can emulate his team against Real Madrid tonight - “we’re all in this together”.

The Giallorossi pulled off an incredible comeback against Barcelona last night, overturning a 4-1 first leg defeat to win 3-0 and go through on away goals.

The Old Lady has a similar mountain to climb in the Bernabeu tonight, but the American owner will be cheering Juve on.

Video: Pallotta's Dolce Vita!

Roma President Jim Pallotta celebrated the Champions League triumph over Barcelona by taking a dip in an ancient fountain!

Overcome by La Dolce Vita, the American businessman joined ultras in Piazza del Popolo by diving in to the water.

Pallotta had flown over from Boston for the occasion and also invited Sir Alex Ferguson to the Stadio Olimpico, but it doesn’t seem as if the former Manchester United manager joined in the shenanigans.

Pallotta: 'Showed who Roma are'

Roma President Jim Pallotta gave “huge kudos to Eusebio Di Francesco” and said knocking Barcelona out of the Champions League “shows who Roma are.”

The 4-1 first leg loss at Camp Nou seemed to be disastrous, but a 3-0 victory at the Olimpico sent them through to the Champions League semi-finals.

Pallotta meets Ferguson, Maldini

Jim Pallotta is meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson in Rome - on the 11 year anniversary of Manchester United’s 7-1 win over Roma.

The Giallorossi take on Barcelona in the Champions League tonight, as they look to overturn a 4-1 defeat in the Camp Nou.

A number of famous faces will attend the match, and Lupi President Pallotta met with Ferguson and Paolo Maldini at the Hotel de Russie, where the team is staying pre-match.

The American owner has previously attended a Boston Celtics game with the former Manchester United manager.

‘Now or never for Roma stadium’

Roma President James Pallotta warns final approval for the new stadium must arrive by July or “that’ll be it and we won’t be here”.

The American owner has been trying to get a new arena built in the Tor Di Valle area, but the project has been hit by a series of delays.

In December the local council approved the Giallorossi’s plans for the Stadio della Roma, but the green light still hasn’t been given to begin construction.

Pallotta: ‘Why would Alisson leave?’

Roma President James Pallotta denies Alisson will leave the club - 'he has a contract and he’s a very good goalkeeper'.

The American owner arrived in Italy today for the second leg of the Champions League Quarter-Final with Barcelona, and he spoke to reporters after touching down.

“Why should he leave?” Pallotta asked, when quizzed about Alisson.

Roma set for American tour

Roma are due to take part in the International Champions Cup this summer, reportedly in a group with Tottenham, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

The spell in America will form the main part of their pre-season training camp, as it’s believed the squad will fly out on July 22 or 23.

Although the official draw has not yet been announced, the Giallorossi are expected to be in a group with Spurs, Chelsea and the Merengues.

Their games will likely be played in San Diego, Dallas and New Jersey.
