Pallotta targets Europa League success

Roma patron James Pallotta has praised coach Paulo Fonseca and the Giallorossi players for picking up 19 points out of 21 possible. ‘Still a lot to play for in the Europa League’.

The Giallorossi have won six out of their last seven matches and secured fifth with a 3-2 win over Torino on Wednesday.

“Another hard-earned victory and a great run of results from the team,” Pallotta wrote on Twitter. “To take 19 points out of the last 21 is not easy with so many games in such a short space of time.”

July 31 deadline for Friedkin's Roma offer?

Reports are gathering pace that Dan Friedkin has offered €490m to purchase Roma, plus another €85m for recapitalisation, but Jim Pallotta must accept by July 31.

The takeover negotiations had seemingly been abandoned after the COVID-19 crisis prompted Friedkin to lower his initial proposal, one that was then rejected by President Pallotta.

The Boston-based patron also complained at the payment schedule that was put forward, but all that is now back in discussion.

President James Pallotta has reassured Fonseca about his position, claiming the Portuguese’s job is not at risk, but the Roman newspaper still claims Baldini has set up a list of contenders for the position.

Pallotta: 'Embarrassing'

Roma President James Pallotta was blunt and evidently displeased with the 2-0 defeat to Udinese at the Olimpico.

The patron had been negotiating to sell the Giallorossi this year, but the proposed takeover of Dan Friedkin reportedly fell through as the two parties weren't agreeing on the financial aspects of the deal.

After the latest sporting setback, the patron was blunt when the reporters asked for his opinion about the upset on Thursday night.

“An embarrassing match,” he said, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
