Pallotta: 'Roma already strong'

President James Pallotta says 'Roma are already very good', but he admits 'we have reinforce the defence'.

The Giallorossi are seen by some as being out of the Scudetto race entirely, after their direct rivals Juventus stole their star player Miralem Pjanic.

Pallotta, however, is having none of it, and he believes his team is still highly competitive.

Roma: Pallotta row with Press

Roma President James Pallotta responded to questions on Miralem Pjanic by furiously snatching a journalists' phone away.

Earlier reports suggested that the Giallorossi head had been 'bothered' by the questions of the Press, but a video published by PagineRomaniste shows the confrontation was substantially more bitter.

As a journalist approached him to ask about Pjanic, Pallotta told him to get out of his way and then snatched the phone that was filming the scene.

The American magnate is in Rome, where he is holding a number of meetings with the club's figureheads as well as with the city's institutions.

Totti: ‘I’ll be technical director’

Francesco Totti confirms he’s also signed up for six years as Roma’s technical director.

The Giallorossi captain has signed a new one-year contract with the club, and will retire at the end of next season before taking up an off-pitch role.

“I’m very happy, because after this year as a player I have another six years as a director,” Totti revealed on Roma TV.

Pallotta: ‘Totti earned renewal’

Roma President James Pallotta admits Francesco Totti “earned this renewal”.

It was initially thought that the Giallorossi would not offer their legendary captain a new contract, with his deal set to expire on June 30.

However, in the Lupi’s last seven games of the season, Er Pupone provided four goals and two assists, and it was today confirmed that he’ll play for one last season.

Confirmed: Totti renews with Roma

Roma have officially announced that Francesco Totti has signed a new contract with the club.

The legendary captain’s current deal was due to expire at the end of the month, and for a time it appeared he would be leaving the Giallorossi.

However, following a meeting in Rome today with club President James Pallotta, the club has announced that Er Pupone will play on for one more year.

“It's official, Francesco Totti will wear the Roma shirt for one last season,” a statement read.

Spalletti: ’Roma want Digne but…’

Coach Luciano Spalletti confirms Roma want to sign Lucas Digne but Paris Saint-Germain “want to keep him”.

The French full-back spent last season on loan with the Giallorossi, but there was no buyout clause inserted into his contract.

President James Pallotta is in Rome this week, and met with the tactician today.

“The meeting went well,” Spalletti told reporters outside Studio Tonucci.
