Pallotta confirms Totti offer

James Pallotta has confirmed that Roma have offered the role of technical director to Francesco Totti and denied not inviting him to a meeting.

Totti is reportedly considering his future at Roma after it was alleged Pallotta had left him out of a recent summit in London.

However, the President clarified in an interview with the club’s official website: “Of course it’s not true.

Pallotta warns Roma players

James Pallotta has warned Roma’s players that they will be gone if they do not give 100 percent under Paulo Fonseca. “He spoke about discipline quite a bit.”

Roma are preparing for a new era under Fonseca, who was confirmed as the club’s new Coach last week, and Pallotta looked to the future with optimism.

“The meeting was absolutely terrific,” the President told his club’s official website.

Totti: 'You'll hear my version soon'

Francesco Totti replied to reports he will reject the role of technical director and leave Roma. “Soon you’ll hear my point of view…”

Calciomercato.com claimed today that the 42-year-old felt frustrated at the direction Roma are going in and could take an early retirement.

"At this moment many words are said and written, trying to hypothesise my thoughts and my choices,” wrote Totti on Twitter.

Fonseca eyes 'something special'

New Roma boss Paulo Fonseca believes the club can ‘create something special’ during his tenure.

Fonseca was announced as Claudio Ranieri’s successor on Tuesday, and the former Shakhtar Donetsk Coach ‘cannot wait’ to get started at the Olimpico.

“I am very pleased to be appointed the head coach of AS Roma,” he told the Giallorossi’s official website.

“I want to thank the club’s management for the opportunity they have given me. I am excited and motivated by the task ahead of us.

Commisso unveils Fiorentina plan

Rocco Commisso unveiled himself as Fiorentina’s new owner on Friday, with a few choice words for Milan, Federico Chiesa and the Press.

Commisso takes over from the much-criticised Della Valle family, and journalists quickly warmed to the Italo-American’s quirky personality, which saw him regularly switch between his mother tongue and English.

Official: DS Massara leaves Roma

Roma announced they have parted company with sporting director Frederic ‘Ricky’ Massara, as Gianluca Petrachi is already working for them.

Petrachi was coaxed away from Torino and has already been flying around Europe taking meetings on behalf of the Giallorossi, including on Tuesday with representatives of Shakhtar Donetsk Coach Paulo Fonseca.

“AS Roma and Frederic Massara can confirm that they have reached a mutual agreement to bring an end to their working relationship,” read a statement.

Roma start again. And again.

Following an underwhelming campaign and numerous changes on and off the field, Roma will be looking to start from scratch next season, writes Steven Moore.

This is not how President James Pallotta would have expected his season to go, especially after the splendid 2017-18 campaign that saw Roma finish in third place with 77 points and progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

A combination of erroneous decisions in the summer transfer window initiated their decline and Pallotta put the blame squarely on his director of sport Monchi, who quit for a return to Sevilla in March.

De Rossi hits back at 'defamatory' article

Daniele De Rossi will sue La Repubblica for defamation and donate the proceeds to charity. “It’s not the first time people have cast aspersions over my friendship with Francesco Totti.”

The report also elicited a furious response from Roma President Jim Pallotta, as it claimed among other things that De Rossi and teammates had tried to get Coach Eusebio Di Francesco and director Totti sacked.

Di Francesco defends Roma methods

Eusebio Di Francesco laughed off suggestions Daniele De Rossi wanted him out and defended his training techniques at Roma.

The club was thrown back into turmoil after a newspaper article claimed there was a player revolt against Coach Di Francesco, something that President James Pallotta denied.

“My working methods are the same as last season, the ones that brought us into the Champions League semi-finals,” Di Francesco told the Corriere dello Sport.

Monchi: 'Best if Roma move on'

Former Roma director of sport Monchi believes “it’s better for everyone that we move forward” and ignore President James Pallotta’s criticism.

In an open letter on the official club website, Pallotta confirmed some parts of the expose in La Repubblica about Daniele De Rossi’s turbulent exit were true, specifically blaming Monchi for “lying” to the captain and getting their transfer strategy wrong.
