Pallotta: Takeover 'fake news'

Roma President James Pallotta has branded reports of a Qatari takeover ‘fake news’.

Roma are already sponsored by Qatar Airways, and it had been reported that the club were open to investment from the gulf state.

However, Pallotta responded on Twitter: “Siri, show me fake news.”

The American has owned the Giallorossi since 2012, but he has been accused of regularly selling the club’s best players.

Pallotta: 'No more alibis'

Roma President James Pallotta pointed criticism at Monchi and Eusebio Di Francesco, but told the players to “stand up and show they have balls. No more alibis for anyone.”

The Giallorossi suffered two consecutive Serie A defeats to SPAL and Napoli under caretaker manager Claudio Ranieri.

In his brief statement on the official Twitter feed, Pallotta implied the blame was on now departed Coach Di Francesco and director of sport Monchi.

Sensi: 'We're not Pallotta's alibi'

Former Roma President Rosella Sensi hit back at current patron James Pallotta’s “incorrect versions of history used as alibis.”

The controversy was stirred up again when Pallotta gave an interview to Real Vision.

James Pallotta says Roma hope to start playing at their new stadium ‘in three years’ as ‘it’ll be the most widely-used venue in all of southern Europe.’

The Stadio della Roma project has been the subject of much controversy since its conception, but Pallotta is confident the green light will be given soon.

“In three years we hope to have the stadium,” the club’s President told Real Vision.

Pallotta: Roma stadium 'this year'

James Pallotta has confirmed Roma’s plans to start work on their new stadium ‘this year’ as it is what the club ‘deserve’.

The Stadio della Roma appeared to be on course for construction, but project was thrown into chaos last week after it was caught up in an investigation into possible corruption.

There has even been talk of a new site for the proposed venue, but Pallotta made it clear nothing had changed on the Giallorossi’s part.

New site for Stadio Della Roma?

A new proposal to move the Stadio Della Roma project to the area near Fiumicino Airport has emerged after yet more arrests and delays.

The plans to build in the Tor di Valle site were finally given some form of approval by the local authorities, only for the whole affair to be caught up in an investigation into possible corruption.

With yet more arrests this week and the politicians involved in giving the all-clear to this and other projects either quitting or being dismissed, the situation remains in absolute chaos.

Roma shipwreck

Monchi and Eusebio Di Francesco may have come short at times, but Andrea Tallarita is disappointed to see another mutiny ruin Roma's long-term project.

In the short crossing from the wreckage of the derby to the close shores of the Empoli game, Roma threw overboard both captain and quartermaster: Coach Eusebio Di Francesco has been sacked, and sporting director Monchi rescinded his contract.
