Roma ready to axe Di Francesco?

Roma President Jim Pallotta is reportedly considering the axe for Coach Eusebio Di Francesco, but options are limited.

The Giallorossi fumbled a 2-0 lead away to Cagliari this evening, conceding the equaliser for 2-2 when the Sardinians were down to nine men.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pallotta is increasingly irritated at the situation and prepared to take drastic action.

'EDF not responsible for Roma results'

James Pallotta insists Eusebio Di Francesco’s position ‘has always been safe’ and that the Coach ‘isn’t responsible for Roma’s results this season’.

Di Francesco’s reign at Roma has been the subject of much speculation after several poor results, but Pallotta suggested the players were at fault as the former Sassuolo boss ‘doesn’t go out on the field’.

“Eusebio’s position has always been safe,” the President told Corriere dello Sport.

Pallotta: 'VAR was a joke'

Roma President Jim Pallotta called the lack of VAR intervention in the 2-2 draw with Inter “a joke. It’s a disgrace.”

Nicolò Zaniolo was tripped by Danilo D’Ambrosio just inside the penalty area, but the VAR officials didn’t alert Gianluca Rocchi to view it again.

Just 30 seconds later, Inter scored the opening goal with Keita Balde Diao.

“The first half was a joke. It’s a disgrace,” the patron told Pagine Romaniste.

Monchi walks if EDF goes?

It’s claimed Roma President James Pallotta is unhappy with Eusebio Di Francesco, but Monchi would walk if the Coach is sacked.

The Giallorossi have had a poor start to the season, and it was suggested this week that Di Francesco is under pressure.

The Lupi face Inter at the weekend, and a defeat would only pile more pressure on the tactician.

According to Il Messaggero, Pallotta has identified Di Francesco as the man responsible, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be sacked.

'Pallotta only at Roma for stadium'

American sports mogul Charlie Stillitano claims James Pallotta is only still at the helm of Roma because of their new stadium project.

A summer of more big sales saw Pallotta come under fire, despite Roma’s run to the Champions League semi-finals last season, and Stillitano admits his fellow American ‘doesn’t know’ how to grow the Giallorossi.

Roma fans protest players and club

Roma fans insulted the players and director of sport Monchi at the train station after a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina.

The Giallorossi played out their second consecutive 1-1 draw after an identical result away to Napoli.

Although Monchi focused only on criticising the referee and VAR officials for the Jordan Veretout penalty, the ultras seem to be angrier with their own squad.

As they boarded the train at the Campo di Marte station in Florence, Roma supporters shouted abuse at the players.

Roma axe hangs over Di Francesco

Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco is reportedly hanging by a thread after the 2-0 home defeat to SPAL.

Despite finishing third in Serie A last season and reaching the Champions League semi-final, Di Francesco remains under pressure at the Stadio Olimpico.

He had surpassed one crisis already this term and notched up four wins in a row in all competition, but that run ground to a halt with yesterday’s 2-0 home defeat to 10-man SPAL.
