Reina cleared by FIGC

Milan goalkeeper Pepe Reina, as well as clubs Napoli, Palermo and Sassuolo, won’t be investigated by the FIGC for alleged links to the Camorra.

The Neapolitan anti-mafia commission is investigating Reina, Paolo Cannavaro and Salvatore Aronica for associating with the mafia, though no charges have been brought.

All three maintain that they were merely introduced to people associated with the local crime syndicates at parties or sponsorship events, unaware of their identities.

Meret worth the Napoli gamble

Napoli are taking a huge risk with €25m plus bonuses on 21-year-old goalkeeper Alex Meret, but Daryl Hammond hopes it'll pay off.

If the 2018 World Cup has taught us anything, it is that age is just a number. After all, 45-year-old Egyptian ‘keeper Essam El Hadary saved a penalty on the same day he came the eldest player to ever feature in the competition.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old France forward Kylian Mbappé continuously affirms his status as one of football’s brightest prospects with a stellar showing against Argentina.

Donnarumma-Morata swap idea

Milan could offer Gianluigi Donnarumma in a straight swap deal with Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, claim Sport Mediaset.

The Rossoneri have never disguised their interest in former Juventus and Real Madrid hitman Morata, but as Chelsea paid €66m for the Spaniard only a year ago, his price-tag is beyond reach.

He struggled to settle in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals with six assists in 48 competitive games, and flies back to Italy whenever he can on vacation.
