Mignolet on Napoli radar

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is one of several options for Napoli once Pepe Reina’s contract expires in June.

The Belgian shot-stopper, who turns 30 in March, is frustrated at the constant competition with teammate Loris Karius.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Mignolet is among the candidates to take over the gloves at the Stadio San Paolo next season.

He joined Liverpool from Sunderland for €10m in 2013, but is no longer guaranteed first choice status at Anfield, as Jurgen Klopp likes to keep his goalkeepers on their toes.

Napoli prefer Rulli to Perin?

Napoli were reportedly offered Mattia Perin by Genoa, but they still prefer Geronimo Rulli of Real Sociedad.

Goalkeeper Pepe Reina is almost certain to leave at the end of the season, as his contract is expiring and Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to offer more than a year on a new one.

It appeared last summer that the Spaniard would move to Paris Saint-Germain, which saw Napoli pursue Rulli as a replacement.

Ultimately Reina remained at the San Paolo, but the club still need to find a long-term replacement.

Reina could miss Spain games

Napoli goalkeeper Pepe Reina could reportedly miss Spain’s friendlies with Costa Rica and Russia as he struggles with a back injury.

The veteran missed the 0-0 draw with Chievo on Sunday, but has nonetheless been called by La Roja for the two friendlies.

According to Marca, he will be subjected to a fitness test when he joins up with the national team, to see if he’s fit enough to play a part in the two matches.

Spain won’t risk Reina for the sake of two friendlies, so he could be left out of the games to recover.
