Serie A sides on alert for Umtiti loan

Spanish newspaper Sport claims that Barcelona are prepared to release Samuel Umtiti on loan, with Napoli, Roma, Lazio and Torino interested.

The 26-year-old France international was signed from Olympique Lyonnais for €25m in 2016 and is under contract until 2023, but has struggled for playing time due to numerous injury concerns.

The centre-back managed only 18 competitive appearances this season and Spanish newspaper Sport claims Barca are prepared to send him out on loan to regain his confidence.

Gotti: 'Udinese tired after tight matches'

Udinese coach Luca Gotti has claimed ‘good goals’ by Sampdoria and ‘tired’ Friulians brought their run of three games unbeaten to an end.

Captain Kevin Lasagna scored the opener at the Dacia Arena on Sunday, but Fabio Quagliarella equalised seconds before half-time before Federico Bonazzoli and Manolo Gabbiadini sealed the win late in the second half.

“We were a bit tired, several players paid for the effort in the previous tight matches,” Gotti said at a post-match press conference.

Hottest Capocannoniere race in 60 years

The Capocannoniere race is suddenly tighter than ever, as Cristiano Ronaldo has 28 goals and Ciro Immobile 29, the most prolific battle since the 1950s.

Lazio striker Immobile had seemingly secured the title of Serie A top scorer with an astonishing run, but like his team, he too has stalled since the restart.

He had 25 goals in his first 22 games this season, but was suspended against Milan and has fired blanks in the last two fixtures as well.

It means Immobile had just two goals in his last six appearances.
