Corvino: 'Lecce offered €2m for Hauge'

Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino said the club had offered Bodø/Glimt €2m for Jens Petter Hauge in August, ‘then Milan arrived’.

The Norwegian winger impressed with a goal and an assist when Milan beat Bodø/Glimt 3-2 in the second qualifying round for the Europa League and moved to the Rossoneri one week later.

But the Giallorossi director Corvino said the talks over a move to the Via del Mare was ‘in full swing’.

Serie B: Venezia win rescheduled Entella trip

Venezia earned a 2-0 victory away to Virtus Entella in the rescheduled Week 5 Serie B fixture, leaping into third place.

Official: Braida takes Cremonese job

Former Milan and Barcelona director Ariedo Braida has officially taken a new job as director general of Serie B side Cremonese.

The 74-year-old was for many years one of the most famous sports directors in European football, working at Milan from 1986 to 2013 under Silvio Berlusconi.

He then had a spell at Barcelona, as director of sport and eventually chief talent scout, but had left the Blaugrana in 2019.

This afternoon, Cremonese announced that Braida would become their new director general from December 2020.

Serie B: 11 Vicenza players have COVID

Another five squad members and two members of staff at Serie B side Vicenza tested positive for COVID-19, taking the total up to 11 players.

There is now a confirmed outbreak at the club, as this afternoon it was announced five players and two members of staff had also tested positive.

They are Luca Barlocco, Pietro Beruatto, Matteo Bruscagin, Stefano Giacomelli and Emanuele Padella.

Along with previous cases discovered last week, there are now 11 Vicenza players out of action due to Coronavirus.

Serie B introduces VAR

The Lega Serie B announced that VAR will be used in the competition from the second half of the 2020-21 season.

Although VAR is now a firm fixture for Serie A, it had only been used in the Serie B promotion and relegation play-offs last term.

Following complaints from clubs and changes to the contract with technology provider Hawk Eye, it was announced this evening that the Lega Serie B will introduce VAR for the second half of this season.

Serie B: Ascoli ask to postpone Pisa match

The match in Serie B Week 7 between Pisa and Ascoli risks being postponed due to various cases of coronavirus at the Bianconeri.

The request for postponement will, according to Sky Sport Italia, come directly from Ascoli, given the high number of positive players between the first team and the reserves.

Ascoli will forward the request to the Lega Serie B in the next few hours, hoping to postpone the match originally scheduled at 13.00 UK time on Saturday.
