Another candidate has emerged for the Milan job after Stefano Pioli, with suggestions former Real Madrid and Manchester City coach Manuel Pellegrini is approached.

There seems to be enough evidence from multiple sources now to conclude that Pioli will not remain on the bench beyond the end of this season, and that the club is looking to a foreign tactician.

Many names have been mentioned and the latest from Calciomercato.it is Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini.

He has plenty of European pedigree at Manchester City and Real Madrid, while he is currently impressing at Real Betis.

Although his contract runs to June 2026, there is said to be a release clause in his contract.

Pellegrini a veteran

It might be a risky approach, considering Pellegrini turns 71 in September and has never previously coached in Serie A.

However, he has family roots in Italy and also has an Italian passport, so this might be an exciting adventure.

Some of his other clubs include River Plate, Villarreal, Malaga and West Ham United.

  1. Of all the rumored names by Football Italia, quite a surprise Vincenzo Italiano is never mentioned. Personally, I’d hire him for next season. He was able to bring Fiorentina (whose squad’s quality is on the same level with current Milan squad) to 2 cup finals. And he doesn’t cost much either since he’ll be free next summer. Forza Milan !
