Marotta on Pjaca and Emre Can

Juventus director Beppe Marotta confirms Marko Pjaca could go on loan to Schalke 04, while Liverpool’s Emre Can is “a good opportunity.”

The Bianconeri visit Verona this evening, click here for the line-ups and Liveblog.

“Pjaca is coming off a worrying and lengthy knee injury. It is only opportune that he finds match fitness with consistent playing time while out on loan and it could well be Schalke,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium.

Goretzka sends Emre Can to Juve?

Emre Can could come to Juventus in January for €5m, as Liverpool have already found his replacement in Schalke’s Leon Goretzka.

The Bianconeri have never hidden their interest in the Germany international, who would reunite with Sami Khedira and Benedikt Howedes in Turin.

According to Tuttosport and Bild, the key to making this move go through early rather than as a free agent at the end of the season comes from Schalke 04.

Clubs line up for Juve's Pjaca

Juventus are ready to send Marko Pjaca out on loan with Monaco, Atalanta, Schalke 04, Sassuolo and Zenit St Petersburg options.

The Croatia international is yet to play for the senior squad this season, as he only just completed his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he suffered at the end of March.

The 22-year-old has been playing and scoring for the Primavera youth team, contributing two goals and three assists in four games, but now needs a sterner test to find his match fitness.

Juve swoop for David Luiz?

English papers claim Juventus are the favourites to sign David Luiz if the Brazilian leaves Chelsea in January, replacing Benedikt Howedes.

The versatile 30-year-old can play in defence or midfield, which would suit the regular tactical tinkering of Coach Max Allegri.

David Luiz had a row with Antonio Conte after the 3-0 Champions League loss to Roma in October and has played only once since then.

He has been suffering from a knee injury, but Conte hinted he’d prefer Andreas Christensen even once Luiz found fitness.

Mustafi on Juve radar

Juventus have reportedly asked Arsenal about a January swoop for Shkodran Mustafi, but were told he is not for sale.

According to Rai Sport, the former Sampdoria defender is considered a prime target, having already been linked with Inter over the summer.

The Bianconeri are seeking a new centre-back because Benedikt Howedes has managed only one appearance all season and is out until at least the New Year with yet another muscular injury.

Howedes out until 2018

Benedikt Howedes is out until 2018 with a thigh strain, confirmed Juventus, while Mario Mandzukic remains in doubt for the Champions League against Olympiacos.

The Bianconeri gave an update on the fitness levels of the three players who missed last night’s 1-0 win at Napoli.

Howedes has been diagnosed with a serious setback, a lesion to the right thigh muscle which “necessitates an extended stop with possible return not before the Christmas break.

“The timing will be better ascertained over the next few weeks.”

Juventus to let Howedes go?

Juventus might not activate their option to buy on Benedikt Howedes if his injury problems don’t clear up, it’s reported.

He arrived on loan from Schalke 04 for €3.5m with obligation to buy for another €13m if he puts together 25 competitive appearances this season.

However, Howedes is yet to receive his Juve debut, having suffered from a thigh strain that’ll keep him out for at least another couple of weeks.

Inter in for Goretzka?

Inter are reportedly interested in Leon Goretzka, but the midfielder is more likely to join Bayern Munich.

The German international currently plays for Schalke 04, but he’s out of contract at the end of the season.

Juventus were interested in his signature, but calciomercato.com reports they’ve cooled their interest thanks to the advances of Bayern Munich.

The Bavarian club have made an informal offer to Goretzka, and remaining in Germany with the champions would be tempting for the 22-year-old.
