Godin: Conte like Simeone

Diego Godin believes Inter and Antonio Conte share “many things” with Diego Simeone and his title-winning Atletico Madrid side of 2013-14.

Godin was a key member of Simeone’s Atleti between 2010 and 2019, helping them win La Liga and two Europa Leagues, as well as reach two Champions League Finals.

The defender joined Inter over the summer, and he suggested Conte’s presence helped him make his mind up.

“I see many things in this Inter that remind me of the Atletico side who won La Liga in 2013-14,” he told DAZN.

Conte: 'Every game is a battle'

Antonio Conte warned Inter “must fight it out for every result” and should not underestimate the importance of defeating 10-man Udinese.

The Nerazzurri maintained their perfect start to the season with a third win out of three, but only a Stefano Sensi header allowed them to squeeze past Udinese after Rodrigo De Paul’s red card.

“We’ll have to fight it out for every result in every game in every situation,” the Coach told DAZN.

Inter turn to PSG striker Cavani

With Beppe Marotta frustrated by Romelu Lukaku and Edin Dzeko problems, Inter are reportedly turning to PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

According to Sportitalia, the Nerazzurri have realised the cost of Antonio Conte’s first choice strikers are simply too high after a series of proposals were rejected.

Director Marotta hinted as much when speaking to Sky Sport Italia today about Manchester United’s Lukaku demands.

Skriniar and Bastoni see Conte's Inter

Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni assure “you can see Antonio Conte’s influence” after Inter beat PSG on penalties.

Samuele Longo’s stoppage-time equaliser cancelled out a Timo Kehrer header and Samir Handanovic saved two spot-kicks in the shoot-out in Macau.

“It was a difficult match, but we put in a good performance and had more chances to score, so fortunately we got the goal at the end,” Skriniar told the official Inter website.

Bring Calcio back to basics

The best defences win titles, so Inter, Napoli and Juventus are bringing the focus back to solidity, insists Kaustubh Pandey.

Calcio has historically been renowned for a defensive brand of football that relies on tactical organisation and structuring.Ask anyone who doesn’t follow Serie A closely and that is what they’ll no doubt tell you it represents.

Ever since Inter won the Champions League in 2010, that reputation of Italian football has never really dominated Europe. Juventus, who themselves played a pragmatic brand of football under Massimiliano Allegri, came close twice, but they could never win the elusive crown.
