Ghirardi: 'I did good Parma job'

Former Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi incredibly insisted he “did a good job” leading the club that went bankrupt.

It was during his watch that the serious financial problems developed, while those who followed were unable to resolve the mountain of debt.

Ghirardi spoke to Pmi Magazine and broke his silence on the Stadio Tardini nightmare.

“I feel able to say that I did a good job. I took the club from bankruptcy under the Tanzi family to very important seasons, even qualifying for the Europa League.”

Donadoni: ‘Parma betrayal’

Roberto Donadoni speaks of a ‘betrayal’ at Parma, and points the finger of blame at Tommaso Ghirardi and Pietro Leonardi.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt this week, and will be forced to begin again as an amateur team in Serie D next season.

“When I arrived at Parma I thought I had found a club which could afford to work in a certain way, as everyone said,” Donadoni told Gazzetta di Parma.

Parma players: ‘Time is short’

Parma’s players have released a statement warning ‘time is short’ to save the stricken club.

A fifth and final auction held today failed to find a buyer for the Ducali, who have been declared bankrupt and will be relegated from Serie A at the end of the season.

Still no Parma offers

A fourth auction has passed with no bids for bankrupt Parma, the club has confirmed.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt in March, with total liabilities topping €200m, and a sporting debt of almost €75m.

Donadoni: ‘Lega to blame for Parma’

Roberto Donadoni says the Lega Serie A and FIGC must take some responsibility for the situation at Parma.

The Ducali have been declared bankrupt, and have already been relegated. However, it is not clear in which division the side will play, as they must clear their sporting debt by the end of June.

Tommaso Ghirardi and Giampietro Manenti have been blamed for accruing huge losses, but the team’s Coach insists others are also to blame.

‘Ghirardi lied to me’

Tommaso Ghirardi misled FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio over the financial situation at Parma, the latter has revealed.

The Ducali were declared bankrupt earlier this month, with debts of over €200m, including €75m in sporting debt.

Former President Ghirardi has repeatedly denied that he ran the club improperly, but the head of the Italian FA has a different take.

Donadoni: 'Ghirardi must pay'

Roberto Donadoni is “disgusted” by Parma’s bankruptcy and wants previous Presidents to join Giampietro Manenti in prison.

The club was declared bankrupt on Thursday and placed under administration, while President Manenti was arrested this week for money laundering.

“The situation is tragi-comic,” said Coach Donadoni in his Press conference.

Parma debts revealed

The extent of Parma’s debt has been revealed, with total liabilities topping €200m.

In the official documents released by the court, the scale of the debts incurred by the club are revealed, with €74,360,912 amassed in sporting debts alone.

In the last financial statements available, from February 17, the total debt amounted to €218,446,754 with €10m owed to various banks and €25m in tax liabilities.

Melli: 'Shame on Ghirardi!'

Parma team manager Alessandro Melli launched a scathing attack on ex-club owners for “ruining hundreds of lives. SHAME ON YOU.”

The Ducali are on the verge of bankruptcy with a hearing planned on March 19, but many of the problems stem from the time under ex-President Tommaso Ghirardi and director general Pietro Leonardi.

Now Melli, who left as team manager, has written an open letter to those he considers to be responsible for the crisis.

Pascali: 'Never even trained with Parma'

One of the estimated 250 players to have passed through Parma since Tommaso Ghirardi took over says he never even went to the training ground.

Manuel Pascali, who left the Ducali to play for Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership has spoken about the situation at the club, revealing he had to buy tickets to watch his teammates.

“I had an unhappy experience at Parma,” the Killie captain recalled in an interview with ItaSportPress.
