Parma deducted one point

Parma have been docked one point by the Italian football authorities for missing payment on taxes and wages last month.

The club confirmed midway through November that it had missed a deadline for payment of taxes and two months of outstanding wages.

Whilst risking a maximum penalty of a six-point deduction, the Ducali have been hit with just the one point removed from their current League tally, as confirmed on the Italian Football Federation’s website today.

Donadoni: 'Parma unlucky again'

Roberto Donadoni forgave the referee after Parma’s defeat to Lazio and welcomed the new club owners.

The Ducali were beaten 2-1 at the Stadio Tardini, but an early goal was incorrectly disallowed and Lazio’s equaliser was beyond the awarded stoppages.

“It was a great first half and we had scored twice, unfortunately one was considered to be offside, and the team was playing well,” Donadoni told Sky Sport Italia.

Parma sold to Russians?

There are reports Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi has sold the club to a Russian-Cypriot conglomerate.

Sky Sport Italia and La Gazzetta dello Sport are among those claiming the deal has already been struck with lawyer and future Vice-President Fabio Giordano.

It’s believed the Russian and Cypriot investors work in the oil industry.

Within the next 10 days a new President will be chosen to lead the club.

Parma are in financial difficulty and will be docked points this season for missing a deadline to pay outstanding wages and taxes.

Parma risk points penalty?

Reports continue to suggest that Parma’s financial situation is not improving and that a deadline to avoid a potential points penalty is today.

The Ducali are reported by the Gazzetta dello Sport and Gazzetta di Parma as staring down at today’s deadline by which time they must make payment on wages and taxes due from July, August and September.

It is speculated that the Ducali require as much as €15m, alongside holding a current debt of €50m, and that failure to meet this latest payment could result in sporting sanctions.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport report that Taci’s offer of €1m to take over the club and its debts was deemed too low.
