Tactical Analysis: Sarri's Juventus

Maurizio Sarri wasn’t always a 4-3-3 tactician, as Elio Salerno goes into a deep dive on what form his new-look Juventus will take.

Now that the speculation is finally over, we can begin considering what Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus will actually look like.

It is widely recognised that the outgoing Chelsea boss favours the 4-3-3 formation. It is the system Sarri deployed whilst at Napoli and continued to use during his single season in the Premier League. Juve have regularly used the same shape under Max Allegri, so it would come as no surprise to see their new tactician maintain that set-up. However, stubborn Sarri has not always been married to that ideology.

Juve include players in Pogba package

Juventus are prepared to offer cash plus Alex Sandro, Douglas Costa or Paulo Dybala to bring Paul Pogba back from Manchester United, it’s claimed.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the plan is to return Pogba to Turin just three years after his €105m transfer to Old Trafford.

It would cost over €100m, but is certainly not out of the question, considering Pogba’s fractious rapport with the club, fans and media in England.

Sarri calls Emerson to Juventus

Maurizio Sarri could be reunited with his Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri if he replaces Max Allegri at Juventus, with Alex Sandro on the way out.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, the Bianconeri look set to appoint Sarri as their new Coach, and he would prefer to work with the Brazilian-born Italy international if Alex Sandro is sold.

The 24-year-old joined the Blues from Roma in January 2018 for €20m and played 27 times in all competitions this season.

Dybala and Alex Sandro for Pogba?

Juventus are prepared to offer Paulo Dybala and Alex Sandro in exchange for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, claims the Sunday Express.

According to the British newspaper, the Bianconeri are hoping to use the two players as part of a swap deal to lower the €140m price-tag.

Both Dybala and Alex Sandro have been earmarked for possible summer exits, as they fell down the pecking order this season, but much depends on who the new Coach will be after Max Allegri.
