Alex Sandro back for Juve

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro has returned to training after an injury layoff, but Adrien Rabiot is still struggling.

The Brazilian has been out of action for several weeks since pulling up with a muscle injury sustained while on international duty.

However, Juventus reported today that he had resumed full training and is therefore available for selection against Sassuolo in Serie A tomorrow.

Rabiot, on the other hand, won’t recover in time as he is still carrying a thigh problem.

Ronaldo leads Juve absences

Juventus have announced their squad for the trip to Atalanta in Serie A tomorrow, with Cristiano Ronaldo left at home.

This shouldn't come as a surprise, as Maurizio Sarri stated during his press conference that the No 7 in all probablity wouldn't make the trip due to the same injury that caused him to be taken off against Milan two weeks ago.

Alex Sandro: Atalanta are challengers

Juventus left-back Alex Sandro believes Atalanta are among the four clubs who will challenge his side for the Scudetto this season.

Atalanta narrowed the gap on leaders Juve to three points after they battered Udinese 7-1 on Sunday, whereas Inter and Napoli both failed to capitalise, drawing with Parma and SPAL respectively.

Juventus shortage of full-backs

Juventus have barely any available full-backs against SPAL this weekend, as Alex Sandro has flown to Brazil on compassionate leave.

The Bianconeri were already dealing with a huge injury crisis that ruled out Mattia De Sciglio, Danilo, Douglas Costa, Marko Pjaca and Giorgio Chiellini.

Alex Sandro has now been given permission to fly back to Brazil following the tragic death of his father.

Juan Cuadrado has been used so far as a makeshift right-back, but even that might not be enough to fill the gaps.

The Atalanta forward then completed the turnaround with a ferocious finish at the end of a flowing team move.

It ended 2-2, as Neymar marked his comeback with the equaliser.
