Conte finding his Inter team

Antonio Conte’s Inter are finally beginning to show some consistency in the top spots challenge stuttering Juventus for the title, writes Richard Hall.

Whilst the 4-0 destruction of SPAL was impressive, it was also needed. There is still a feeling that Inter are always one game away from a crisis at present and if they had managed to lose in Ferrara, then it is likely that this would have been the case. Consistency is the buzzword for the Nerazzurri these days and now they are showing signs of this, Antonio Conte wants to make sure people know about it.

Sarri: 'Consistency is key'

Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri doesn’t think Paulo Dybala would have changed the ‘blackout’ at Milan and feels ‘consistency and order’ can help the Old Lady control the game against Atalanta on Saturday.

The Bianconeri take on high-flying Atalanta in Serie A this weekend and Sarri expects Gian Piero Gasperini’s men to offer a real handful.

Chiellini and Alex Sandro back in training

There is some good news for Juventus, as while Paulo Dybala and Matthijs de Ligt are suspended against Milan, Alex Sandro and Giorgio Chiellini return to training.

The Bianconeri are now seven points clear at the top of the Serie A table and take on Milan on Tuesday.

Dybala and De Ligt picked up yellow cards in the 4-1 win over Torino and are therefore suspended for the next round.

This would in theory leave only Daniele Rugani available to fill in at centre-back, but there might be time for Chiellini to make his return.

Alex Sandro and Khedira injury updates

Juventus have injury problems after the Coppa Italia Final, as Alex Sandro tore a medial collateral knee ligament and Sami Khedira has a potentially serious tendon issue.

The Bianconeri returned to Turin after last night’s defeat to Napoli in Rome and are now preparing for the first Serie A game back against Bologna on Monday.

“Diagnostic tests carried out at J-Medical this afternoon showed for Alex Sandro, a first degree lesion of the medial collateral ligament. Physiotherapy began immediately.

Douglas Costa swap for Jorginho?

Juventus could offer Douglas Costa in a straight swap with Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, claims Sport Mediaset.

It would be no surprise to see Jorginho reunited with Maurizio Sarri yet again, after they worked together at Napoli and Chelsea.

He’d also represent someone who already knows Sarri’s football well and could therefore help the others at Juve learn his movements.

While the Premier League side want €50m cash to part with Brazilian-Italian Jorginho, Juve are basing most of their transfer dealings on exchanges.

Tottenham shopping in Serie A

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly offering Serge Aurier plus cash for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, while pushing Atalanta for Timothy Castagne.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Jose Mourinho is looking to Serie A for reinforcements in defence.

They would lower the cost of Alex Sandro – in the region of €50m – by including Ivory Coast full-back Aurier as part of an exchange deal.

Aurier scored two goals for the London club this season and provided seven assists.

Only Higuain and Rabiot abroad for Juve

Juventus have almost all their players back in Turin after going overseas, staying in quarantine, but Gonzalo Higuain and Adrien Rabiot are still abroad.

Training began this week at the Continassa ground, as players had tests for COVID-19 and could then run on the pitches, albeit keeping to social distancing guidelines.

However, those who had been abroad during the lockdown and only recently returned cannot take part, as they must first self-isolate at home for 14 days.

Juventus prepare Pogba swaps

Juventus would welcome Paul Pogba and are happy to exchange him with Miralem Pjanic or Douglas Costa to Manchester United, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Sky Sport Italia transfer expert spoke to Sky Sports UK this evening and confirmed some stories that had already emerged in Italy and England over the last few weeks.

It had been suggested Pogba could return to Turin, but with the coronavirus lockdown affecting transfer fees and the fact he only has one year left on his contract, Manchester United’s hopes of €150m are dashed.

Juventus swap deals for Pogba

Juventus have several players who could be used in an exchange for Paul Pogba, with Douglas Costa, Miralem Pjanic, Alex Sandro, Aaron Ramsey or Adrien Rabiot to Manchester United.

Inter, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are again linked with a swoop for Pogba this week, as news filtered through from England that United were not going to activate the extension option on his contract.

That makes a summer sale almost inevitable, but the coronavirus pandemic has hit transfer fees hard and we probably won’t see another €120m move quite so soon.
