Brazil call Alex Sandro

Juventus full-back Alex Sandro has been called up for Brazil after an injury to Inter defender Joao Miranda and Marcelo’s ban.

The Seleçao announced the changes to their squad ahead of the World Cup qualifier with Colombia.

Alex Sandro and Jemerson of Monaco have been added to the side.

Despite becoming one of the highest-prized left-backs in Europe, Alex Sandro only has seven senior caps for Brazil.

The most recent appearance was in a 4-0 friendly win over Australia in June, but that ended a four-year drought.

Chelsea still pushing for Alex Sandro

Chelsea are still keen to sign Juventus full-back Alex Sandro, according to reports in England.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the Brazilian this summer, but the Bianconeri have insisted he isn’t for sale.

According to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea had two bids of €57m and €67m rejected by the Serie A champions, but are still hoping a deal can be done.

That would be largely dependent on Alex Sandro asking to leave, as it’s well known Juve don’t hold players against their will.

Chelsea still in for Alex Sandro?

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have not given up on a deal for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, according to the Evening Standard.

The London-based newspaper claims Chelsea are relying on Alex Sandro to hand in a transfer request so that Juve would be forced into a sale.

Furthermore, the Brazilian has yet to accept the Bianconeri’s offer of an improved contract, which would still be below the Blues’ proposal of “in excess of £100,000 a week”.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website believes neither he nor Alex Sandro are for sale, with Juve determined to keep both.
