Lotito makes Inzaghi admission

Lazio President Claudio Lotito has admitted that he would be ‘hurt’ if Simone Inzaghi left the club for Juventus.

Inzaghi has been tipped in part to take over at the Allianz Stadium after the Bianconeri announced Max Allegri’s departure earlier today.

In response to the speculation, Lotito told Corriere dello Sport: “I would be hurt if Inzaghi left us, he represents our history, especially since I have been President.

Atalanta slam Coppa 'scandal'

Atalanta have slammed the ‘scandalous’ decision not to award them a penalty during their Coppa Italia Final loss to Lazio.

Atalanta were beaten 2-0 on Wednesday evening, leaving President Antonio Percassi to rue the lack of even a VAR review for Bastos’ first-half handball after he appeared to close down a Marten de Roon shot with his arm.

“It was a scandal, which caused us serious harm,” Percassi told Sky Sport Italia.

Lazio rise to the occasion

Football Italia’s Chief Correspondent, Richard Hall, reflects on a fantastic Coppa Italia Final for Lazio after they beat Atalanta 2-0 at the Olimpico.

All of Bergamo descended on Rome on Wednesday, desperate for a chance to see Atalanta win their second Coppa Italia, the last coming in 1963. The hysterical and almost religious nature of their support was only part of the delicious cocktail that was this Final. Lazio may have not been drooled over this season like Atalanta. Far from it. In fact, they had created more negative Press than positive. However, they were not going to let these pretenders enter the Eternal City and win the Coppa, that was clear, not if the Romans could do anything about it.
