Jeison Murillo returns to Celta Vigo on loan with an option to buy from Sampdoria.

The Blucerchiati signed the former Inter centre-back for €13.3m in January 2020 and immediately loaned him out to Celta for the remainder of the season.

The 28-year-old, who has previous spells at Barcelona and Valencia, has only played 12 games for Sampdoria.

“UC Sampdoria announce that they have loaned out the football player Jeison Murillo to Real Club Celta de Vigo with the option to buy,” the club wrote in a statement.

Celta Vigo close on Murillo

Celta Vigo and Real Sociedad are interested in Sampdoria defender Jeison Murillo, with the latest offer worth €11m.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the two Spanish clubs are challenging for the Colombia international.

Samp are eager to sell too, as the €1.4m per season salary is something of a weight on their finances.

Celta Vigo remain the favourites, with a proposal to take Murillo on loan with obligation to buy for a total of €11m.

This is just below the €14m asking price, but potentially enough to do a deal.
