Dzeko: 'Florenzi will be back'

Edin Dzeko insists Roma captain Alessandro Florenzi will “bounce back” but reminds him to “respect the coach’s decisions”.

Paulo Fonseca has tended to prefer Leonardo Spinazzola and Davide Santon over the 28-year-old, whose last Serie A start came a month ago.

However, Dzeko expects the right-back to return to Roma’s starting XI, even if he may have to bide his time.

“Ale is fine, he’s our captain,” the 33-year-old said at a Press conference.

Dzeko: 'Bosnia have Euro regrets'

Edin Dzeko assures Bosnia-Herzegovina “won’t underestimate” Italy but admits his country have regrets about not finishing second in their qualifying group.

The Nations League playoffs seem like the best hope of reaching Euro 2020 for Bosnia, who have to make up five points in their last two qualifiers, with second-placed Finland facing minnows Liechtenstein next.

“We know Bonucci, I do rather well, but I also know the other players. There aren’t many surprises,” Roma striker Dzeko said at a Press conference.

'Bosnia want to compete with Italy'

Miralem Pjanic, Rade Krunic and Edin Dzeko will all start for Bosnia-Herzegovina against Italy as CT Robert Prosinecki wants his side to show “we can compete”.

Bosnia need to make up five points in their final two Euro 2020 qualifiers to reach the finals next summer, and Prosinecki made it clear his team would put up a fight against Italy.

“The most important thing is that everyone is healthy and ready for this match,” he said at a Press conference.

Dzeko: 'Roma lost something'

Roma striker Edin Dzeko believes the club have "lost something" since Francesco Totti and Daniele De Rossi left over the summer.

Speaking to La Stampa ahead of Bosnia-Herzegovina's Euro 2020 qualifier against Italy on Friday night, Dzeko admitted Roma were worse off without the iconic duo.

Fonseca: 'Mkhitaryan will help Dzeko'

Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be close to a return after the international break and Roma coach Paulo Fonseca feels the Armenian "could help Edin Dzeko."

The attacking midfielder has been out with a tear in the adductor muscle and has missed nine matches for the Giallorossi.

Since the Armenia international has been out through injury, the Bosnian forward Edin Dzeko has only scored once, in a 2-1 win at San Siro. Now Fonseca feels the return of Mkhitaryan could help Dzeko find the back of the net regularly again.

Ref halts Roma-Napoli for offensive chants

Referee Gianluca Rocchi put the new protocols into action when briefly suspending Roma-Napoli due to offensive chants.

The rules were changed a few weeks ago, giving officials in Italy the power to stop play if racist chants continue after an initial warning is read over the speaker system.

That was the case this afternoon at the Stadio Olimpico, as Roma fans repeatedly made insulting chants about Neapolitans.
