Dzeko dedicates derby win to Roma chiefs

Edin Dzeko dedicated Roma’s 2-0 derby win over Lazio to the fans, to Paulo Fonseca and ‘the club that is always looking forward with positivity.’

The Giallorossi wanted revenge for their 3-0 defeat in January and this was their first derby win since September 2018, ending a run of two draws and two losses.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan turned in a Dzeko assist before the Pedro stunner from distance.

Mourinho to keep a close eye on six Roma players

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, José Mourinho will keep a close eye on six Roma players in their away game against Inter this evening.

The Special One will watch the match between his former and future clubs from his apartment in London.

It’s confirmed he will move to Italy only at the end of the season, out of respect for current Roma coach Paulo Fonseca.

Mourinho is thinking about how he could line up Roma next season and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he will keep a close eye on six specific players this evening.

Mourinho wants Belotti for Roma

New Roma coach Jose Mourinho has pin-pointed Torino hitman Andrea Belotti to lead his attack next season, but Edin Dzeko could stay too.

Paulo Fonseca is on the way out after two years and Mourinho has already been announced to take over, so the transfer strategy will be outlined by The Special One.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Mou has already chosen Belotti as the ideal player to revamp their attack, especially as he had already tried to sign Il Gallo when he was at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur.

Roma striker Edin Dzeko said Manchester United are favourites ahead of the semi-final but stressed the Giallorossi ‘aim to win the trophy’.

The Bosnian spoke to UEFA’s official website ahead of the first leg against the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Thursday.

The veteran recalls having scored his first goal in the Champions League at Old Trafford during his time with VfL Wolfsburg.

He then went on to score four more goals at Old Trafford when he played for the local rivals Manchester City.

Dzeko: 'Man Utd Europa League favourites'

Edin Dzeko concedes Manchester United ‘are the favourites’ in the Europa League semi-final, but if Roma work as a team, then ‘nothing will be impossible.’

The first leg is coming up next Thursday at Old Trafford, with the decider at the Stadio Olimpico.
