Kaka: 'Milan DNA is back'

Ricardo Kaka believes his old club “are on the right track and have the Milan DNA” after returning to salute the fans.

It kicks off at San Siro at 19.30 UK time (18.30 GMT), follow the build-up and action as it happens on the LIVEBLOG.

The Brazilian fan favourite was on the pitch before kick-off to salute the crowd.

“It’s so wonderful to be here and seeing these fans is a unique feeling,” Kaka told Milan TV.

Capello: 'Milan needs Milanisti'

Fabio Capello can’t choose between Milan and Roma, but is glad the hosts are now run by “Milanisti, as the atmosphere had very little of the Rossoneri.”

Kaka returns for Milan

Kaka flew into Italy this afternoon to begin working with Milan, but admits “we haven’t yet discussed” the role he’ll have.

The Brazilian will essentially take on an apprenticeship with the Rossoneri, with a view to taking a role within the club in the future.

It was speculated this morning that could be a scouting position, as he doesn’t want to spend too much time away from his family.

“I’m very happy every time I come here,” Kaka told reporters as he arrived in Italy.

Conte back on Milan radar?

Milan’s 3-2 defeat at Napoli has brought back the spectre of Antonio Conte hanging over Coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The Rossoneri had taken a 2-0 lead at the Stadio San Paolo last night, but in the space of 30 minutes the hosts had turned it all around to lead 3-2.

According to Calciomercato.com, the club hierarchy are again considering an offer to make Conte their new Coach.

Abbiati could return to Milan

Christian Abbiati sees Paolo Maldini and Leonardo returning to Milan as “a step forward”, and is open to coming back himself.

The former goalkeeper was team manager last season, acting as a go-between for the players, Coach and club.

He stepped down from the role in the summer, but could now return to the Rossoneri setup.

“The return of Leo and Paolo is already a step forward,” Abbiati told RMC Sport.

Tassotti: ‘Too many Interisti!’

The Rossoneri have been taken over by Elliott Management following Yonghong Li’s ousting, and the former right-back sees a brighter future for his beloved club.

Bacca: 'Gattuso wanted me at Milan'

Carlos Bacca insists Milan Coach Gennaro Gattuso and director Leonardo “wanted me to stay, but I’d already decided” on Villarreal.

The striker spent last season on loan at Villarreal and finally made the move permanent in an exchange deal with Samu Castillejo.

Kaka: Milan have DNA back

Kaka believes Milan’s new-look management team has ‘rediscovered the club’s DNA and recovered their characteristics’.

Elliott Management’s Milan takeover was quickly followed by Gennaro Gattuso being reconfirmed as Coach, Leonardo returning as sporting director and Paolo Maldini coming back to assist the Brazilian.

“The priority for me is still being with my children Luca and Isabela, who are still young and live in Sao Paulo,” the trio’s former teammate told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan technical director Leonardo confirms “there was never a negotiation” for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
