‘CL more important than Serie A’

Milan President Paolo Scaroni has claimed that ‘the Scudetto is less important than the Champions League’.

Milan are Italy’s most successful club in Europe, with seven European Cups to their name, and Scaroni expressed his desire for the Rossoneri to tap back into that trend.

“What have I understood in these two months? That there are two mountains to climb: one of building a winning team and another of getting [Milan’s] accounts back on its feet,” he told Corriere della Sera.

Leonardo: ‘Dudelange not easy’

Milan technical director Leonardo insists “it’s not easy to play against” Dudelange, one of their Europa League opponents.

The Rossoneri were handed a tough group with Olympiakos and Real Betis, with the Luxembourg side expected to be the whipping boys of the group.

“There are a lot of Milan fans in Luxembourg,” Leonardo pointed out, speaking to rtbf.be.

“They’re a team we know and it’s not easy to play against them, especially in European competition.

Leonardo: ‘Kaka linked with Milan’

Leonardo confirms Kaka “will be in connection” with Milan, but at the moment “there’s no precise role”.

The Brazilian has been in Italy in recent weeks to discuss a role with the club, possibly in a scouting position so he can remain in South America with his young children.

“Kaka will be tied to us because of the relationship that’s there,” Leonardo assured Sky.

“There’s no precise role, but he’ll be tied to us because he’s indelibly linked to the history of Milan.

Kaka: 'Milan DNA is back'

Ricardo Kaka believes his old club “are on the right track and have the Milan DNA” after returning to salute the fans.

Kaka returns for Milan

Kaka flew into Italy this afternoon to begin working with Milan, but admits “we haven’t yet discussed” the role he’ll have.

The Brazilian will essentially take on an apprenticeship with the Rossoneri, with a view to taking a role within the club in the future.

It was speculated this morning that could be a scouting position, as he doesn’t want to spend too much time away from his family.

“I’m very happy every time I come here,” Kaka told reporters as he arrived in Italy.

Conte back on Milan radar?

Milan’s 3-2 defeat at Napoli has brought back the spectre of Antonio Conte hanging over Coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The Rossoneri had taken a 2-0 lead at the Stadio San Paolo last night, but in the space of 30 minutes the hosts had turned it all around to lead 3-2.

According to Calciomercato.com, the club hierarchy are again considering an offer to make Conte their new Coach.
