Leonardo: Gattuso going nowhere

Leonardo assures Gennaro Gattuso’s position as Milan Coach ‘has never been up for discussion’ and will remain so.

In the second part of his Milan presentation on Thursday, the newly-appointed general manager also ruled out any ‘big’ signings due to Financial Fair Play, expressed confidence that Pepe Reina and Gianluigi Donnarumma could coexist and admitted Paolo Maldini joining him back at San Siro would be ‘very nice’.

Leonardo: Bonucci wants Juve return

Leonardo has confirmed that Leonardo Bonucci wants to re-join Juventus after only a season into his Milan transfer.

Leonardo was officially unveiled by Milan as their new general manager on Thursday, but all the talk building up to his presentation concerned Bonucci’s possible return to Juve.

“I’ve met some people, not just those from Juventus,” confessed the 48-year-old.

Gattuso laughs off job speculation

Gennaro Gattuso laughs off speculation that Milan President Paolo Scaroni called him to reassure him over his future.

The former midfielder replaced the sacked Vincenzo Montella late last year and guided the Rosssoneri to a sixth place Serie A finish.

However, speculation has grown in the last week that Antonio Conte is waiting in the wings to take over at San Siro.

Milan move for Morata

Sky Italia reports Alvaro Morata would accept a move to Milan, but Chelsea are asking for €65-70m.

The Rossoneri are keen to sign a top striker this summer, and have also been linked with Gonzalo Higuain of Juventus.

Tonight transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his Sky show that new Rossoneri general manager Leonardo has contacted Morata’s entourage.

Official: Leonardo back at Milan

Milan have officially confirmed that Leonardo has returned to the club as general manager.

The Brazilian is a former Rossoneri player and Coach, and was previously sporting director at Paris Saint-Germain.

With Elliott Management taking over from former owner Yonghong Li it was reported that Leonardo would return, and that has now been officially confirmed by the club.

Mega Juve-Milan deal on the cards?

A mega deal between Juventus and Milan involving Leonardo Bonucci, Gonzalo Higuain, Mattia Caldara, Mehdi Benatia and Marko Pjaca could be on the cards, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian daily believes an unprecedented exchange of players could be about to take place between the two Serie A clubs, although there are many issues still to be resolved.

Rossoneri captain Bonucci has been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro this summer, with Manchester United initially touted as his most likely destination.

Report: Milan contact Conte

Milan director-elect Leonardo has reportedly contacted former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte over his availability.

According to Premium Sport, Leonardo – who is set to become Milan’s technical director – received a ‘positive reply’ from Conte.

However, the ex-Italy CT would still need ‘a couple of months’ to resolve his dispute with Chelsea after his sacking.

Nonetheless, the broadcaster notes it ‘isn’t good news’ for Gennaro Gattuso, with the situation ‘constantly developing’.

Milan discuss Higuain

Sky Italia reports that Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta discussed Gonzalo Higuain with incoming Milan director Leonardo.

The former Rossoneri player will be confirmed as technical director in the coming days, following the takeover by Elliott Management.

According to Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Marotta phoned Leonardo to congratulate him on his new role, but the subject of Higuain did come up.

At the moment an official offer is still a long way off, and the Diavolo would have to sell players before financing a move for Pipita.

Milan: Leonardo & new CEO imminent

Leonardo’s appointment as Milan’s new general manager is reportedly imminent, while the club have ‘already identified’ their new CEO.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Leonardo reached an agreement with Milan ‘in the last few hours’.

The Brazilian scored 30 goals in 124 appearances for the Rossoneri over two stints as a player, winning a Scudetto and Coppa Italia, as well as the 1994 World Cup with his country.

Elliott's three-year Milan plan

Elliott Management aim to control Milan for three years and not one, it’s reported, selling two per cent to Riccardo Silva.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the takeover after President Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts won’t be a short-term operation seeking a new buyer.

The idea would be to set up a three-year project to get the club back on track, raise its value and then sell at a large profit.
