Van Basten: 'Leo has betrayed Milan'

Milan legend Marco Van Basten thinks Leonardo has betrayed the club by joining heated rivals Inter.

Leonardo accepted the offer to replace Rafa Benitez despite his 13-year history with Milan.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Van Basten said: "It's not right to pass from one family to another. Wouldn't it be a betrayal?

"In my case, yes. I was at Milan for many years. I found myself happy. In my opinion even Inter understand this way of thinking."

Kaka denies he'll join Leonardo at Inter

Although Kaka denies it, reports continue to suggest new Inter Coach Leonardo will try to bring the Real Madrid star back to San Siro.

On Christmas Eve the Nerazzurri officially appointed Leonardo after terminating their contract with Rafa Benitez by mutual consent.

The former Milan boss was something of a surprise pick and opens up some intriguing transfer prospects.

“I do believe that Leonardo's arrival could facilitate Kaka's move to Inter,” agent and transfer expert Antonio Caliendo told Sky Sport Italia.

Moratti: 'I trust Leonardo'

Inter President Massimo Moratti explains why he chose his new Coach. “I trust Leonardo. This was not meant to irritate Milan.”

The Nerazzurri formally announced the replacement for Rafa Benitez on Christmas Eve, despite insisting no statement would be finalised until after the holidays.

“I thought it nice for the fans to spend Christmas knowing the name of their Coach. It seemed to me a good present for them and the supporters certainly deserve it,” Moratti told the Corriere dello Sport.

Mourinho: 'Fans should support Leo!'

Former Inter boss Jose Mourinho has crowned Leonardo his worthy successor. “He is great, support him the way you did me!”

Mou made it clear he never had a good history with Rafa Benitez and is overjoyed now that the Spaniard has been replaced.

“Leonardo is great. I ask the Inter fans to welcome and support him the way you did me!” Mourinho told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

Julio Cesar: 'Leonardo the right man'

Julio Cesar has given his blessing to fellow Brazilian Leonardo. “He is the right man for Inter and also my friend.”

On Christmas Eve the club confirmed it had appointed Leo as the new Coach, replacing Rafa Benitez.

“He will be great,” Julio Cesar told Globo Esporte. “He is the right man for Inter and he is also my friend.

“It is very important that he already knows Italian football very well. I think this is going to work.”

Ranocchia is Leonardo's first Inter buy

Andrea Ranocchia has left the Genoa camp and will begin training with new club Inter on Wednesday, confirmed the defender's father.

It was well known that the two clubs were in intense negotiations and “close to a deal,” according to Genoa President Enrico Preziosi, but the details seem to have been whittled down.

“I can confirm Andrea left the Genoa camp this afternoon,” father Marco Ranocchia told Tuttomercatoweb.

Leonardo has Zanetti backing

Inter captain Javier Zanetti says he would welcome the proposed appointment of Leonardo as the club's new Coach.

Leonardo will be Inter boss

Leonardo will soon be confirmed as the new Coach of Italian champions Inter, reports are insisting.

Despite fresh links with Walter Zenga this morning, the Italian media remain convinced that the Brazilian will be Rafael Benitez's successor at San Siro.

Talks are understood to have already taken place with just some minor details to be resolved between both parties.

Although an announcement could be imminent, the general feeling is that the appointment will be made official on December 27 or 28.

OFFICIAL: Leonardo is Inter Coach

It is now official that Leonardo is the new Coach of Inter, as announced by the club website.

There had been strong reports of an imminent deal for some time and the termination by mutual consent of Rafa Benitez's contract opened the door.

On the evening of Christmas Eve, Inter released a statement confirming Leonardo is the new man in charge of the Nerazzurri.

He has signed a contract until June 30 2012 and will begin working with his new squad on December 29.
