Schelotto in car cash scare

Atalanta and Italy winger Ezequiel Schelotto has been released from hospital after he was in a car accident last night.

The Argentine-born Azzurri man reportedly suffered minor injuries in the car crash and had a neck brace applied before he was taken to hospital in Bergamo for tests.

Criscito 'deserved protection'

Domenico Criscito’s lawyer is furious that the defender was ruled out of Euro 2012 due to an investigation that has been dropped.

The Zenit star’s room at the Italy training ground was subjected to a dawn raid before the tournament and he was handed a formal notice of investigation for match-fixing.

Azzurri fringe impressions

Italy defeated Malta on Tuesday to earn their first win in World Cup 2014 qualifying. Luca Cetta asks which fringe players aided their chance of featuring in the next round of fixtures.

Cesare Prandelli will take the three points. After the Bulgaria draw a win was a necessity to kick-start the qualifying campaign and Italy got the desired result. Mattia Destro scored five minutes in and Federico Peluso netted right at the end for a 2-0 victory.

Osvaldo explains Malta difficulties
