Juan in new Flamengo link

Brazilian defender Juan could join Flamengo in the summer if he can agree a deal with Roma to rescind his contract.

Reports in the capital on Tuesday are suggesting that the 33-year-old may head back to his homeland at the end of the season.

The former international stopper is contracted to the Giallorossi until June 2013 and a renewal at the Olimpico seems unlikely.

Juan: Scudetto before Flamengo

Brazilian defender Juan has postponed talk of a return to former club Flamengo. "I want a Scudetto with Roma first."

The 32-year-old spent six years at the Brazilian outfit, until his 2002 move to Bayer Leverkusen, and he still has admirers at the club.

He has again recently been paired with a return to the side, which now contains former Milan player Ronaldinho, but he insists such a transfer is not on the horizon.

"Ronaldinho is a friend and I'd like to play alongside him for Flamengo, but not yet," he told Globoesporte.

“He told me that he wants to come back to us, but Roma must free him first.”

Ronaldinho signs for Flamengo

Flamengo have formally announced on their official website that they have signed Ronaldinho from Milan on a four-year deal.

The 30-year-old playmaker's contract was due to expire in the summer and Milan felt it best that they went their separate ways.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani gave the Brazil international permission to seek a move home to Brazil after he brought in Antonio Cassano to replace him.

Ronaldinho '99 per cent Flamengo'

“Ronaldinho is 99 per cent a Flamengo player,” said Milan chief Adriano Galliani, all but putting an end to Gremio's dreams.

The legend claimed he only wanted to return to the club where he started his career in Porto Alegre, but Gremio failed to reach a financial agreement with the Rossoneri.

“Ronaldinho is 99 per cent a Flamengo player,” Galliani was quoted as saying by TV Globo in Brazil.

Palmeiras and Corinthians had also made offers to bring Dinho back to his homeland after six months spent mainly on the Milan bench.

Earlier today Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani suggested he was “99 per cent a Flamengo player.”

Now Gremio are also confirming that they have backed out of the talks to bring him back to the club where he started his career.

According to Radio Globo this evening, Dinho is on his way to Rio de Janeiro, where he will sign for Flamengo on Wednesday.

Flamengo: 'We have Dinho deal too'

The Ronaldinho saga has taken another twist, as Flamengo announce they “have an agreement” with the Milan player.

Gremio have said they have agreed terms with the former Barcelona hero for several weeks, but the €8m price-tag to release him six months before the contract expires has opened the door to other clubs.

Dinho flew out to Porto Alegre this weekend in order to help complete his transfer.

“We have an agreement with regards to Ronaldinho's wages,” announced Flamengo President Patricia Amorim.

Agent: 'Ronaldinho likes Brazil move'

Ronaldinho's agent confirms the Milan bench-warmer could leave in January. “Returning to Brazil would allow him to win the two titles he's missing.”

The Rossoneri star is struggling to get a game under Coach Max Allegri and started just one of the last eight official outings.

“Football evolves in such a rapid fashion,” agent and brother Roberto de Assis told Jogo Aberto.
