Bentancur adds to injury crisis

Juventus have a midfield crisis on their hands, as Maurizio Sarri admits Rodrigo Bentancur could have a serious knee injury.

The Uruguay international limped off during last night’s 3-1 defeat to Lazio and Sarri’s initial comments were not reassuring.

Bonucci: 'Juve can't concede like this'

Leonardo Bonucci warned Juventus “cannot concede this many goals” after losing 3-1 to Lazio. “It’s all well and good creating beautiful football, but we need determination too.”

The Bianconeri suffered their first defeat of the season in all competition, as after Juan Cuadrado was sent off, the Aquile ran riot with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Felipe Caicedo.

Bonucci was asked how the team had taken this setback in the dressing room.

Sarri: 'Red card changed everything'

Maurizio Sarri was not too concerned after Juventus suffered their first defeat of the season, 3-1 against Lazio. “The red card changed everything.”

The Bianconeri had been the only team remaining in Europe’s top five leagues who were unbeaten in all competition, but that run came to an end at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I thought we had a good first half, doing very, very well, but unfortunately allowed that goal right on the stroke of half-time,” Sarri told DAZN.

De Paul: 'Conte one of the best'

Udinese midfielder Rodrigo De Paul believes Inter coach Antonio Conte is “one of the three best in the world,” alongside Pep Guardiola and Maurizio Sarri, "but don't ask in what order."

The Argentina international was speaking to the Corriere dello Sport on a number of topics, and was asked where his best position is.

“I like to play as a mezz'ala, either in a two or a three man midfield. I play in a two with the international team, usually with [Leandro] Paredes next to me. With Udinese I play in a three.

Bentancur: 'I can be the best, if...'

Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur confesses that Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard were his idols growing up, and was told he “needs to score more goals,” by Max Allegri and Maurizio Sarri.

The Uruguayan was speaking to DAZN ahead of tonight's showdown with third-placed Lazio and believes that he needs to work on becoming a regular scorer from midfield.

Sarri: 'Lazio possible contenders'

Maurizio Sarri warns Juventus will be facing potential Scudetto contenders in Lazio on Saturday as he expects a hard-fought battle at the Olimpico.

Juve take on a Lazio side third in Serie A this weekend, and Sarri believes the Aquile have a chance to play their way into the title race after a strong run of domestic form.

Bonucci regrets 'certain decisions'

Leonardo Bonucci explained the difficulties of “accepting change” with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus and why he “would not have made certain decisions” again.

The Italy defender was speaking at the Allianz Juventus Stadium, interviewed by TEDx speaker Rudy Bandiera as part of a workshop on generational change.

“I’m starting to move across to the older side of the group now. If I think back to the Leonardo I was two or three years ago, I would not have made certain decisions,” said Bonucci.

Marchisio: 'Juve in no trouble'

Claudio Marchisio believes there are no problems with Juventus, even if Serie A is now “more competitive” with Inter rivalling them.

Marchisio, who recently retired from football, was in Rome picking up the Andrea Fortunato award, named in memory of the ex-Juve defender who tragically died of leukaemia at the age of 23 in 1995.

“Serie A is more interesting, but I don’t see Juve in any trouble,” he told reporters.
