Sarri: I can live with scepticism

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri has confirmed he can live with “scepticism” and that Juan Cuadrado will remain a right-back under his watch.

Sarri’s suitability for the role of Juve Coach was questioned even before he took over, but he is still unbeaten after nine games at the helm, taking the Old Lady top of Serie A, while introducing them to a more proactive style of play.

“I hope Mihajlovic will be in his dugout tomorrow. It’d be a pleasure to see him again,” he said at a Press conference for tomorrow’s visit of Bologna.

(Video): Mihajlovic back at training

Sinisa Mihajlovic took his first training session since he was diagnosed with leukaemia and wants to be on the Bologna bench this Saturday against Juventus.

It kicks off on Saturday at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview.

The 50-year-old tactician announced he had leukaemia in July and has already completed two courses of chemotherapy at a clinic in Bologna, but kept up to date with his squad and staff using videolink technology.

Menotti: 'Sarri is my heir'

Former Argentina Coach Cesar Luis Menotti said Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri “could be my heir” in promoting the beautiful game. “Football is an art form.”

The man who won the 1978 World Cup turns 81 next month and spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the sport in 2019.

“I am always seeking beauty in football,” said El Flaco. “Sarri at Juve is a big surprise. He could be my heir, I’d be honoured and grateful.

Buffon: 'Juve can only respect Conte'

Gianluigi Buffon discussed the Coaches he worked with, making saves in his sleep and why Juventus fans should “respect” Inter boss Antonio Conte.

The World Cup winner sat down with wife and TV presenter Ilaria D’Amico at the Festival dello Sport in Trento today, who revealed SuperGigi never quite switches off.

“Apparently I make saves in my sleep… Maybe they were the ones I wasn’t able to make during my career,” he laughed.

Koulibaly: 'Racists hide in a crowd'

Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly told L’Equipe magazine about his experiences of racism. “They’re thugs and would never dare make those noises to my face.”

The Senegal international centre-back was born in France to Senegalese parents and described “swimming in diversity from birth” at Saint-Die-des-Vosges with friends of varied nationalities.

“There might’ve been a racist tinge to some of the comments at FC Metz and Genk, but I didn’t have a single problem of genuine racism.

Lorenzo Insigne admits he has “rows with Carlo Ancelotti,” but the captain assures he’d “get myself killed for the Napoli jersey.”

Buffon: 'No plans to retire yet'

Gigi Buffon admits he would “only accept being second choice for Juventus” and will take an Italy swansong when he eventually decides to retire.

The 41-year-old shows no signs of slowing down and was today named UN Goodwill Ambassador for the World Food Programme.

After the event, he also spoke to reporters about his current career path and the return to Juve after one season with Paris Saint-Germain.
