ADL: Sarri always gets sacked!

Aurelio De Laurentiis has again hit out at Maurizio Sarri, warning Chelsea that the ex-Napoli Coach was ‘always getting sacked’ and is a ‘stiff’ person.

Sarri has guided Chelsea to five straight wins in the Premier League since replacing Antonio Conte over the summer, but De Laurentiis could not resist another pop at Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli predecessor.

“I’m always close to the team, also because I chose Ancelotti and I’m responsible, like I was with Sarri,” the President told reporters.

Sarri makes Premier League history

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is only the fourth manager in the Premier League era to win his first five games – and the second Italian after Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian arrived after a lengthy legal battle with Napoli and when pre-season training had already begun, but is already proving why the Stamford Bridge hierarchy were so determined to sign him.

Sarri took to the Premier League like a duck to water, ensuring Chelsea have their best start to a Premier League season since 2010.

Ancelotti leaves Sarri behind

Carlo Ancelotti continued the process of pushing Napoli beyond the Maurizio Sarri era, but Matthew Santangelo saw a struggle with Fiorentina.

After three years at the helm, Maurizio Sarri had moulded Napoli in his image and any replacement was going to find it tough to follow that. Carlo Ancelotti was chosen for his experience, prestige and ability to mutate an existing unit into something new.

The 3-0 defeat to Sampdoria was a disaster, as the Coach was punished for trying to change too much, too quickly. Undeterred, he continued his renovation of the Partenopei by bringing in Nikola Maksimovic and scrapping the 4-3-3 for an unexpected 4-4-2 formation.
