Milan target Sarri next season?

Milan want to start a new era with current Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri at the helm next season, claim Tuttosport.

According to the Turin-based newspaper, the club sees Gennaro Gattuso as only a stop-gap solution following the dismissal of Vincenzo Montella.

Plans are already in progress to tempt Sarri away from the Stadio San Paolo to San Siro over the summer.

It’s certainly not the first time he had been mentioned, as Sarri was very close to taking the Milan job when Silvio Berlusconi was still in charge of the club.

Gasp is Sarri's Kryptonite

Gian Piero Gasperini's Atalanta won three of their last four meetings with Napoli, so Emmet Gates wonders what makes them so deadly for Maurizio Sarri.

Napoli’s 2017 was record breaking. Despite a trophy less year, Maurizio Sarri’s men collected an astounding 99 points across the 12 months, considerably more than any year in their history. On Sunday, their season resumes with a trip north to play a team and indeed a Coach that Sarri must hate the very idea of facing: Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta.

Was Verdi right to reject Napoli?

Simone Verdi was the primary January transfer target, but the Bologna starlet had to focus on his own development first, writes Vilizar Yakimov.

“I dоn’t want to leave Bologna this month. I preferred to stay here and continue with a growing project until June.” That was Simone Verdi’s confession shortly after increasing reports stated that he is almost certain to join league leaders Napoli before the end of January. The Milan youth product was highlighted as the Partenopei’s No. 1 target for the current transfer window, as Verdi’s name was listed ahead of the likes of another ex-Rossonero Gerard Deulofeu and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Moura.
