Wages stall Eriksen’s Inter exit

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have retired from the race to sign Inter’s Christian Eriksen, with the Dane’s wages stalling his January exit.

The former Tottenham star is looking for an escape route from the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza where he arrived one year ago in a €27m move.

According to the ever-reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have already retired from the race to sign their former star.

The Lancers, in fact, wanted to have Eriksen back at the club, but without paying his entire €7.5-a-year wages.

Mourinho wants Eriksen’s Tottenham return

According to Sky Sport Italia, José Mourinho wants Christian Eriksen’s Tottenham return in January, but the player’s salary is slowing negotiations down.

Eriksen joined Inter from Tottenham one year ago in a €20m move.

The Dane, however, is expected to leave the Nerazzurri in the January transfer window as he has only played 13 games across all competitions so far this season.

Skriniar: 'I wanted to stay at Inter'

Inter defender Milan Skriniar said he ‘wanted to stay’ at the Nerazzurri amid the rumours of a move to Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

The Slovakia international has played 11 Serie A games in 2020-21 after having started the season with a quarantine in his homeland.

During the summer, reports emerged about a possible move to Spurs in the Premier League and Skriniar admitted he was not sure how to feel about the interest from England.

Capello: 'I would swap Dybala with Kane'

Former Milan, Roma and Juventus coach Fabio Capello said he would only swap Paulo Dybala with Tottenham forward Harry Kane.

Capello spent three years at Juventus between 2004 and 2007 but didn’t manage to repeat his previous success at Milan and Roma during his time in Turin.

The former coach is convinced Dybala will return to his best and said COVID-19 ‘is the explanation’ to his current problems.

Pochettino and Eriksen to reunite at PSG?

Former Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the vacant position at Paris Saint-Germain and rumours of a move for Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen immediately emerged.

Tuttomercatoweb reports the natural link between Pochettino and Eriksen, who played 255 games over six seasons under the Argentine coach at Spurs.

Only Harry Kane and Heung-min Son scored more goals under Pochettino than Eriksen’s 58 at Spurs, but the pair never won a title together.

Napoli want €18m for Milik

Arkadiusz Milik’s agent is in Italy, as Napoli reportedly want €15-18m to sell the striker, who will be out of contract in July.

The forward has been frozen out of the squad since refusing to sign a new deal over the summer, as a transfer to Roma broke down at the last minute.

He risks losing his place in the Poland squad for the rescheduled Euro 2020 tournament, so needs to find a new club in the January transfer window.

Khedira: 'I won't leave in January'

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira insists he will ‘certainly not’ leave in January, although he is eyeing the Premier League and ‘never lost contact’ with Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho.

The veteran has been frozen out of the Bianconeri squad this season, but his contract runs to June 2021 and he continues to be one of the highest earners at the club.

“If you can’t give your all during the game, you try to do it in training or off the field,” Khedira told German channel ZDF.

Exclusive: Everton ahead of Tottenham in Khedira race

Everton are ahead of Tottenham in the race to sign Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira who could terminate his contract with the Old Lady in January, sources tell Football Italia.

The German midfielder has yet to make an appearance with the Serie A giants so far this season and Andrea Pirlo has left him out of the Champions League squad list.

Dortmund want Eriksen in January?

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly considering making a move for Inter midfielder Christian Eriksen in January.

The German side were linked with a move for the Dane in October and the possibility of a loan deal with the Nerazzurri playmaker.
