Balotelli still out for Milan

Milan look almost certain to be without Mario Balotelli for what could be a crucial game against Sassuolo.

Balotelli still training alone

Mario Balotelli is yet to return to training with his Milan teammates, struggling with a sports hernia.

The forward has been out of action since before the international break, and had been following a personalised training regime at Milanello.

However, despite reports that the Italian international could return to training with the rest of the squad today, Sky and Mediaset report that he's still training alone.

Diavolo déjà vu

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s Milan was meant to be a change of pace but Milan are still stumbling along, writes Sam Lewis.

It wasn’t meant to be like this.

We’re only eight games into the new Serie A season and already Milan’s joint-CEO Adriano Galliani is answering questions about the Coach’s future. “Torino is not a decisive match for Mihajlovic,” the official said before the match. It’s a good job.

Balotelli doubt for Torino

Mario Balotelli is a major doubt for Milan’s trip to Torino, after training separately again today.

The forward missed the last game before the international break - a 4-0 defeat to Napoli - with a sports hernia, and is yet to return to training with his teammates.

Sky reports that Balotelli once again followed an individual training program this morning, and left Milanello before the afternoon session.

It therefore appears unlikely that the striker will be fit to play when the Rossoneri visit Torino on Saturday evening.

Balotelli still sidelined

Mario Balotelli is still not back in training for Milan, making it unlikely he’ll feature against Torino.

The Liverpool-owned striker missed the 4-0 defeat to Napoli with a sports hernia and hasn’t fully recovered yet.

Balo trained separately from the rest of the group again today.

It seems increasingly unlikely that he will be passed fit to face Torino on Saturday evening.

Conte: 'I won't be pressured'

Antonio Conte warns he “won’t be conditioned by anyone” when choosing his Italy squad for Euro 2016 and maybe beyond.

The CT spoke to RAI Sport ahead of tonight’s final qualifier against Norway in Rome, which kicks off at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

“I will not let myself be conditioned by anyone, not the winds coming from the north, centre or south,” declared Conte when asked about choosing his players for the tournament.

‘Balotelli for Italy? Not yet…’

Former Italy midfielder Giancarlo Antognoni does not believe Mario Balotelli is ready for an Azzurri return.

The Milan forward had been tipped for Antonio Conte’s latest squad before picking up an injury, but the CT admitted that he wouldn’t have selected the striker, even if he had been available.

“He’s come back well, but Conte is right,” 1982 World Cup-winner Antognoni told La Repubblica.

Galliani has 'faith in Mihajlovic'

Milan CEO Adriano Galliani confirmed they “absolutely have faith” in Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The director spoke to MilanNews.it as he arrived for this evening’s friendly against Monza at the Stadio Brianteo.

“We absolutely have faith in Sinisa. Is it a negative moment? I don’t want to comment, because my long history in football teaches me that those who win talk, while those who lose just have to stay quiet.

“We hope to be talking again soon.”

Raiola: ‘Balo attitude important’

Mario Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola says ‘the most important thing is his attitude’ after an impressive start to his Milan return.

The striker, on loan at the Rossoneri from Liverpool, scored a stunning free kick in their 3-2 win over Udinese on Tuesday.

“For me, in addition to the goal, the important thing is that today in Italy are discovering how many punches and knocks the player must put up with and stay quiet,” Raiola said to Adnkronos.
