New deals for Pjanic and Khedira

Juventus are preparing contract extensions for both Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira.

There had been reports that Pjanic could be on his way to Barcelona as a replacement for Andres Iniesta, but the Bianconeri want to lock him down.

According to Gazzamercato, the Bosnia international has been offered a new contract to June 2022.

He’d also receive a pay rise to €6m per year, making him one of the biggest earners in Serie A.

German international Khedira could also be given a contract extension until June 2021.

Khedira: ‘Couldn’t sleep after Korea’

Germany midfielder Sami Khedira calls his World Cup performances “inexplicable” especially as “I had probably the best season of my life” at Juventus.

The World Cup holders have been knocked out at the Group Stage, losing 2-0 to South Korea on Wednesday to finish bottom.

Khedira played in both matches they lost, while he was dropped for their solitary win over Sweden.

“None of us players reached the tournament in top condition, but I don’t want to criticise my teammates,” Khedira told Bild.

Khedira hails Emre Can capture

Sami Khedira has hailed Juventus’ ‘very important’ capture of Emre Can and insisted that ‘I’ll definitely stay’ in Turin this summer.

Can completed his free transfer to Juve on Thursday, and Khedira spoke of his excitement at linking up with his fellow German in the Bianconeri’s midfield.

“He’s a very important signing, I know him well and I’m glad he’s joined us,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Can: 'Biggest day of my life'

Emre Can said signing for Juventus is “one of the biggest days of my life” and he’s struck by the sheer size of the “huge” club.

The German international arrived as a free agent, as his contract with Liverpool had expired, and had a medical today before signing the four-year deal.

“It’s really a wonderful day for me, one of the biggest days of my life,” he told JTV.

Khedira could renew with Juventus

It’s reported Sami Khedira could be given a two-year extension to his Juventus contract, to ward off Premier League interest.

The midfielder is a key component of Massimiliano Allegri’s side, and scored nine goals this season, as well as providing five assists.

His current deal expires in the summer of 2019, and with the imminent arrival of Emre Can it was assumed he’d move on, with Khedira said to be keen to try the Premier League.

Khedira in Germany squad

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has been included in Germany’s squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The 31-year-old, who scored nine Serie A goals in 2017-18 had been included in the preliminary group, comprised of 27 players.

Joachim Low named his final 23-man squad today, and the Bianconeri star has kept his place for the tournament in Russia.

However, Manchester City’s Leroy Sane has been removed, as has Napoli target Bernd Leno of Bayer Leverkusen.

Khedira in Germany World Cup squad

Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has been named in the provisional 27-man Germany squad for the 2018 World Cup.

At the same time that Die Mannschaft announced the list of players, the Federation also confirmed Coach Joachim Low has extended his contract to June 2022.

Germany are in Group F with Mexico, Sweden and South Korea in this summer’s tournament in Russia.

Juve set Emre Can date

Juventus are set to announce the arrival of Emre Can after Liverpool play the Champions League Final, it’s reported.

The midfielder has been in negotiations for several months and will be a free agent in June.

Although there were also proposals from Bayern Munich and Manchester City, the Corriere dello Sport newspaper insists Can is heading to Turin.

It’s reported the move will be announced on May 27, after Liverpool play the Champions League Final against Real Madrid.
