Fiorentina 'drop Bonifazi for Caceres'

Fiorentina could reportedly drop Torino defender Kevin Bonifazi for free agent Martin Caceres.

Fiorentina seemed to be pushing for Bonifazi, but Gazzetta dello Sport warns the club are not convinced about splashing out in excess of €15m.

With that in mind, the newspaper writes Fiorentina are considering Caceres as an alternative.

The Uruguayan is currently without a club after leaving Juventus for the third time over the summer.

Juventus should pursue Manolas

With an ageing backline, Juventus should target Roma’s Kostas Manolas to resolve the club’s crippled centre-back positions, writes Anthony Barbagallo.

Juventus fans were conscious of the Bianconeri’s midfield problems going into the 2018-19 campaign, but little did they know that their side’s defence would be so disjointed throughout the season. The Italian giant, priding itself on impeccable defending, has never looked so wounded in the backline, especially in the centre-back positions.

With a significant player overhaul expected for the Old Lady this summer, swooping in on Roma’s star centre-back Kostas Manolas could prove to be an intelligent reinforcement for Juve’s defensive crisis.

Allegri: 'Not Juve's biggest game'

Max Allegri confirms Leonardo Spinazzola and Martin Caceres could start against Atletico Madrid, but “if we call this the biggest match of the season, then Juventus are in trouble.”

Atleti won the first leg 2-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano, but the Champions League Round of 16 will be decided in Turin on Tuesday at 20.00 GMT.

“We must do well to read the various moments of the match, understand when to do some things and when to do others,” said the Coach in his Press conference.
