Lazio show interest in Chamakh

Rumours linking Lazio with a summer move for Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh are gathering pace.

The capital outfit are desperately searching for a new centre-forward and have identified the Moroccan as a possible solution.

Chamakh's future at Arsenal is in some doubt after a difficult first season in the Premiership for him.

Signed on a free transfer from Bordeaux a tear ago, the forward hasn't scored in the English top flight since November 2010.

Arsenal keep tabs on Inler

Arsenal have joined Napoli in the race to sign Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler, according to reports in England.

Speculation is mounting that the Switzerland international will leave Friuli at the end of this season.

Inler brought attention on himself at the weekend when he didn't celebrate a goal against Napoli.

Naturally, it led to claims that he has already promised to play for the Serie A high flyers next season.

However, Arsenal appear ready to challenge Napoli for his signature.

Moggi: I almost appointed Wenger

Juventus' disgraced former general manager Luciano Moggi claims he would now appoint Francesco Guidolin and once came close to hiring Arsene Wenger.

Speculation is mounting that Juventus will make a coaching change in June after just one season with Gigi Del Neri at the helm.

"I believe that Gian Piero Gasperini and Antonio Conte are two good trainers, but they wouldn't suit Juventus right now because they would need a strong and compact club behind them and in this moment Juventus isn't one," Moggi said.

Buffon agent open to Arsenal

Gianluigi Buffon's agent has left the door open for a move to Arsenal, but insisted “there has been no contact from the Manchester clubs.”

The goalkeeper is set to renegotiate his contract with Juventus, which expires in June 2013, and is thought to be one of the big names on the market to help rejuvenate the side.

“Will he stay at Juventus? I don't know, we will have to evaluate things with the club,” Silvano Martina told Goal.com.

“What we do know is that he still has a two-year deal there.”

Arsenal and Roma battle for Buffon

While Gianluigi Buffon insists he's staying at Juventus, it's reported Roma and Arsenal are battling for his signature.

The goalkeeper stuck with the Bianconeri through Calciopoli, Serie B and their current crisis that could see them miss out on Europe altogether.

His contract is up for renewal and every day the Italian papers include reports suggesting he is looking elsewhere.

Up until now the primary candidate has been Roma, who will invest heavily once new owner Thomas Di Benedetto completes his buy-out.

Udinese defender Mehdi Benati has told La Gazzetta dello Sport that he would like to be reunited with his friend Samir Nasri at Arsenal.

The 23-year-old, who has scored three times this season, has been something of a revelation and is drawing admiring glances from Europe's biggest clubs.

Asked if it's true that Nasri wants him at the Emirates, Benatia said: "Yes. He wants to do it. When I was in France, at a small club, he said to me: 'I am going to talk to Arsene Wenger'. And I told him that he was crazy. Now he is ever more decisive.
