Capello: 'Coman another Juventus mistake'

Fabio Capello accuses Juventus of ‘repeating the same mistakes’ with Kingsley Coman as Thierry Henry by selling too early.

Coman started for Bayern Munich in tonight’s Champions League Final against Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon, preferred to Inter loan winger Ivan Perisic.

“Coman is considered good enough to start in a Champions League Final for Bayern Munich,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

Gabriel keeps Koulibaly at Napoli?

Arsenal getting Lille defender Gabriel could have a knock-on effect, as Napoli are reportedly rejecting Manchester City’s latest Kalidou Koulibaly offer, with his former agent warning there’s ‘no comparison.’

Multiple sources in France, England and Italy all have the same story, namely that Gabriel Magalhaes will sign for Arsenal in a deal worth €30m.

He will put pen to paper on a five-year contract and it’ll be made official this weekend.

Torino call for Torreira

Torino are the latest Serie A side to be linked with Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira, as he’d reunite with ex-Sampdoria coach Marco Giampaolo.

Torreira spent most of his career in Italy, with Pescara and then Sampdoria, until the €29m move to Arsenal in the summer of 2018.

The 24-year-old has struggled for playing time lately and is reportedly seeking a return to the Peninsula.

Gabriel to Arsenal: Done deal

It is now clear that Gabriel Magalhaes will sign for Arsenal, as Napoli took a step back, with multiple reports confident the Lille defender will sign tonight.

Lille had essentially agreed a transfer fee with Napoli, Arsenal and even Everton at €30m, including various bonuses.

The Partenopei had the upper hand, but were unable to complete the move, as they first had to sell Kalidou Koulibaly, Arkadiusz Milik or Nikola Maksimovic.

Napoli leave Gabriel to Arsenal

Lille defender Gabriel is increasingly likely to join Arsenal, as Napoli turn their focus towards Shakhtar Donetsk defender Mykola Matvienko.

The Partenopei have a gentleman’s agreement to sign Gabriel for €26m plus bonuses, but cannot make the move until Kalidou Koulibaly has been sold to Manchester City.

The negotiations for that transfer are dragging on and Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more report Arsenal are taking advantage of the situation by increasing their bid for Gabriel.

Juventus prepare player cull

Juventus want Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira to terminate their contracts, while new coach Andrea Pirlo cuts many players from the squad.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Pirlo is ready to enact a cull of the old guard as he takes over from Maurizio Sarri.

The main concern is that Higuain and Khedira have no intention of terminating their contracts early, whereas Juventus are working to make that happen.

These two veterans will both want at least some of the outstanding salary as a golden handshake to leave the club, so it will be a costly operation.

Report: Aouar favours Juventus

According to reports in France, Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar has put Juventus at the top of his wish-list, ahead of PSG, Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Their interest in the 22-year-old talent has been going for well over a year, which may give them the advantage in an eventual bidding war.

The asking price is over €50m, which only increased with the run to the Champions League semi-finals.

Napoli's Gabriel alternatives at Arsenal

If Napoli miss out on Gabriel, then potential other options are Sokratis Papasthatopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi of Arsenal, plus Jean-Clair Todibo from Barcelona.

The Partenopei have long had a deal with Lille for the Brazilian, but the delays have allowed Arsenal and Manchester United to step into the gap, as well as potentially PSG.

According to RAI Sport and Radio Kiss Kiss, there is a list of alternatives for Gabriel Magalhaes.

Competition grows for Gabriel

Napoli are increasingly marginalised in the race for Lille defender Gabriel, as after Arsenal and Manchester United, now PSG are involved.

Italian and French reports had a deal done with Napoli worth €28m plus bonuses, but it could not be completed until either Kalidou Koulibaly or Arkadiusz Milik had first been sold.

As both those deals – Koulibaly to Manchester United, Milik to either Roma or Juventus – are dragging on, the Partenopei are stuck.
