Roma put off by Mustafi price

Shkodran Mustafi’s father warns Arsenal must ask for “market-driven transfer fees” after reportedly demanding €27m from Roma and Monaco.

The Giallorossi are still looking for a centre-back after Kostas Manolas moved to Napoli this summer.

Several options were approached and then let go, while now Mustafi is on their radar.

“Shkodran had a great time with Arsenal. We still have a contract for two years and can imagine to stay in London,” said his father and agent Kujtim Mustafi.

Sanchez a steal for Inter

Inter's deal with Manchester United for Alexis Sanchez is zero-risk and with potentially massive benefits, writes Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall.

"Alexis Sanchez to Inter is a gamble that both parties could win comfortably.” These were the words of Udinese legend and former team-mate of Alexis Sanchez, Antonio Di Natale. The former Azzurri hitman had a point, when you analyse the terms that will see the Chilean arrive in Milan, one has to think it is a steal. The agreement is a risk-free one for Antonio Conte and could, in turn, see the rebirth of a superlative talent that could light up Serie A.

Time's up for Rugani

Daniele Rugani takes one step forward and two back at Juventus, as Wayne Girard warns it’s time to move on.

This was meant to be Daniele Rugani’s year, having learned from the BBC of Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Giorgio Chiellini, the best defensive trio of this past generation. Instead, the Italy international finds himself unappreciated at Juventus.

When looking at the defence from a statistical point of view, one sees that not all has been right for the Old Lady, with an aging and jostled backline. This past season, Juventus saw its highest total goals allowed since the BBC trio’s unification.

Conflicting Arsenal-Rugani reports

Reports in England suggest Arsenal have abandoned talks for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, but in Italy they insist it’s still on for €30m.

There are conflicting rumours surrounding the fate of the centre-back, who has fallen down the pecking order at Juve with the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and Merih Demiral.

A two-year loan offer was seemingly rejected and talks broke down, but now Tuttosport are claiming a one-season loan with obligation to buy in June 2020 for €30m is still possible.

Arsenal agree Rugani terms

Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Daniele Rugani, as Juventus could accept a loan with obligation to buy.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, the Gunners have the all-clear from Rugani to complete the move.

It would be a salary worth €4m per year plus performance-related bonuses.

Now the two clubs have to finalise the details, but it’s possible Juve will accept a loan with obligation to buy at the end of the season.
