Perotti injury not too serious

There is good news for Roma, as tests show Diego Perotti’s muscular injury is not as bad as first feared.

It was believed he had suffered a thigh strain during this week’s individual training sessions.

However, Sky Sport Italia and Il Messaggero assure tests ruled out any lesions to the muscle.

This means rather than three weeks out, Perotti is likely to return within a few days.

Teammate Pau Lopez will be out of action for three weeks, as he suffered a microfracture to his wrist.

Perotti suffers new muscle injury

Roma are hit by another setback ahead of the resumption, as Diego Perotti joins Pau Lopez on the treatment table with a muscle injury.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Argentine winger sustained a muscle fatigue injury during training at Trigoria.

His conditions will be monitored daily but for now, the 31-year-old will have to work separately.

The setbacks continue for Perotti, who has missed 16 games this term through continuous muscle injuries and is out for the third time already in 2019-20.

Genoa return for Perotti?

Genoa are reportedly trying to bring Diego Perotti back from Roma and are willing to include Andrea Pinamonti in the deal.

Perotti initially left Genoa on loan in February 2016, but Roma made the deal permanent the following summer and his current contract with the Giallorossi expries in June 2021.

Perotti has struggled to impress under Paulo Fonseca and has played 14 times in Serie A this campaign, contributing three goals and one assist in the process.

Perotti swap with Pinamonti?

Diego Perotti could reportedly make a return to Genoa in exchange for Andrea Pinamonti moving to Roma.

According to Il Tempo newspaper, the swap of strikers is being considered for this summer.

Perotti’s contract with Roma is due to expire in June 2021 and an extension seems improbable.

Genoa would be interested in giving the 31-year-old a new lease of life, back where his Serie A career began in 2014.

As for Pinamonti, he came up through the Inter youth academy and is still technically owned by the Nerazzurri.

Perotti: '1-0 not a huge difference'

Diego Perotti admits the 1-0 first leg result “won’t make a huge difference” against KAA Gent, but it does allow Roma to end their month-long winless streak.

An early strike from Carles Perez proved enough, but the Europa League Round of 32 remains wide open going into the second leg in Belgium.

“It was important to win and shake off this negative period where we struggled to get a victory,” Perotti told Sky Sport Italia.

Report: Piatek rejects offers

Krzysztof Piatek has reportedly rejected offers from Genoa and Crystal Palace, as he wants to stay with Milan.

Piatek was signed a year ago from Genoa for €35m, but after a bright start for the Rossoneri, his form has dipped.

The striker has only scored five goals in the second half of 2019, with three of them coming from the penalty spot.

Milan have since signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic, potentially leaving the Poland international permanently on the Rossoneri bench.

Perotti: 'Wrong Roma attitude'

Diego Perotti acknowledges Roma “did not play well and had the wrong attitude at times” in their 2-2 Europa League draw with Wolfsberg.

The Giallorossi knew they would qualify for the Round of 32 with a draw, but were twice pegged back at the Stadio Olimpico.

“I had said these are strange games where anything can happen. We did not play well, but we got through and must now look forward to the next round,” Perotti told Sky Sport Italia.
