Chelsea officials in Italy for talks

Corriere dello Sport reports Chelsea officials are in Italy to discuss a number of deals with both Milan and Juventus.

The Premier League club have been heavily linked with a number of Serie A players following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri as Coach.

The former Napoli boss has identified several key transfer targets from his former League as he looks to improve on the Blues’ fifth place finish last season.

And the Italian daily claims the Stamford Bridge club have now sent a team of negotiators to Milan for a string of negotiations.

Higuain-Morata swap suits everyone

Chelsea fans may have concerns about Gonzalo Higuain, but as Cronan Yu explains, the move could benefit Maurizio Sarri, Alvaro Morata and Juventus.

The last time both Maurizio Sarri and Gonzalo Higuain walked side by side together as player and Coach, it ended with carnage unfolding outside the Stadio San Paolo. Months after scoring a record haul of 36 goals in 35 games to break a record that had stood since 1950, the Argentine had made up his mind; he packed his bags and left, securing a €90 million transfer to Serie A rivals Juventus.

Ancelotti targeting Batshuayi?

Carlo Ancelotti’s friend visited Napoli training today and revealed he is “trying to sign an interesting, young, important striker," rumoured to be Michy Batshuayi.

The new Partenopei Coach replaced Maurizio Sarri this summer and is back in Serie A after spells at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

“I saw Ancelotti really happy, as he is enjoying himself at Napoli,” friend and basketball Coach Alberto Bucci told Sky Sport Italia.

Milan in for Higuain, Morata

Milan are reportedly in London to negotiate for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, but are also in contact with Gonzalo Higuain’s representatives.

CEO Marco Fassone and sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli are in the UK capital, where it was reported they could be dismissed from their roles.

However, Sky Italia is reporting that while new owners Elliott Management may well dismiss the pair, they’re actually in England to negotiate for Morata.

Giroud and Morata out for Higuain

Maurizio Sarri is reportedly prepared to sell Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata to get Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus.

Higuain broke the all-time Serie A record for goals in a single season when at Sarri’s Napoli in 2015-16 and the pair never disguised their desire to work together again.

Now that Sarri and Jorginho are at Stamford Bridge, a reunion is on the cards, but Juve want €60m for the Argentina international.

According to The Mirror, Chelsea are prepared to cash in on both Giroud and Morata in order to get Higuain at Stamford Bridge.

Higuain-Morata swap picks up pace?

The proposed swap deal involving Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain and Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata is reportedly picking up pace.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport and Premium Sport, the exchange ‘can happen’ as they are interested in bringing back Morata, while Higuain has been made available for transfer.

Furthermore, Maurizio Sarri – who was behind the Argentine’s best individual season at Napoli – would want a reunion at Stamford Bridge.

Mirabelli: 'No false promises'

Milan director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli warned not to “take fans for a ride or make false promises” with Alvaro Morata rumours.

The Rossoneri continue to be linked with various top players, but the Financial Fair Play ruling could inflict a fine, limit the squad or even see them excluded from the Europa League.

“We will have a careful and contained approach to the market that respects the rules,” Mirabelli told Sky Sport Italia.

Donnarumma-Morata swap idea

Milan could offer Gianluigi Donnarumma in a straight swap deal with Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, claim Sport Mediaset.

The Rossoneri have never disguised their interest in former Juventus and Real Madrid hitman Morata, but as Chelsea paid €66m for the Spaniard only a year ago, his price-tag is beyond reach.

He struggled to settle in the Premier League, scoring 15 goals with six assists in 48 competitive games, and flies back to Italy whenever he can on vacation.

CdS: Milan thinking of Higuain

Gonzalo Higuain is the alternative to Alvaro Morata if Milan keep their Europa League spot, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

There have been growing reports that Higuain has been placed on the market by Juventus and is linked with Chelsea, should they appoint Maurizio Sarri.

A move within Serie A would seem unlikely, especially with a €60m price-tag, but the Corriere dello Sport sees Pipita as a cheaper and more experienced alternative to first choice Morata.
