Morata regrets Juve exit

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata admits “I’d have never left Italy and Juventus” if he had it his way.

Morata won two Scudetti in two seasons at Juve, as well as picking up a Champions League runners-up medal, before moving back to Real Madrid last summer.

However, the Spaniard’s return was short-lived – despite an impressive goal record in 2016-17 – as he went on to join Chelsea over the summer.

Dzeko: 'Morata can rest...'

Edin Dzeko hopes Alvaro Morata “is rested” as Roma visit Chelsea in the Champions League and celebrates his 100th Giallorossi game.

Alonso: ‘Roma are very strong’

Marcos Alonso says Roma are “very strong” and knows Chelsea will have to watch out for Edin Dzeko.

The English champions face the Giallorossi in the Champions League tomorrow, and the former Fiorentina full-back spoke in the pre-match Press conference from Cobham.

“They’re a very strong team,” Alonso said.

“I think they’ve still got the bloc they had when I was playing in Italy. Tomorrow will be difficult, we’ll have to give 100 per cent to win.

Kante at risk for Chelsea-Roma

Chelsea could be without N’Golo Kante for the Champions League against Roma after he limped off on international duty with France.

The two teams go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge on October 18, then meet again at the Stadio Olimpico on October 31.

However, Kante is now a major doubt to feature in either of those matches.

The former Leicester City enforcer suddenly pulled up clutching the back of his left leg in what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Morata to miss both Roma games

Alvaro Morata is expected to miss both Champions League showdowns with Roma after the Chelsea striker was ruled out for four to eight weeks.

The former Juventus and Real Madrid forward pulled up during Sunday’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester City.

He has been diagnosed with a Grade II hamstring injury in his left leg and this type of problem usually requires anywhere from four to eight weeks on the sidelines.

Morata: 'Not easy for Spain'

Alvaro Morata insists Spain’s 3-0 victory over Italy “looked easier than it was” and fully expected to be on the bench.

The former Juventus and Real Madrid striker came on in the second half to add the third goal after an Isco brace.

“It looked easier than it was, it’s certainly not easy to beat Italy, especially like this. We had a great game and thank the fans at the Bernabeu who backed us all the way,” Morata told Rai Sport.
