Bonaventura books Milan meeting

Milan will meet with midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura’s agent Mino Raiola in January to discuss a renewal, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The midfielder has just recently returned from a lengthy injury that saw him miss a year of action.

He made his comeback against Torino in late September and has slowly made his way back into the side, scoring against Napoli and Bologna.

La Gazzetta reports that Milan will meet with Raiola in January to discuss renewing Bonaventura’s contract, which expires next June.

Magnanelli: 'San Siro motivates us'

Sassuolo skipper Francesco Magnanelli has warned Milan that San Siro gives his side “extra motivation” ahead of Sunday’s encounter.

Magnanelli spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport reporters during the club’s visit to a local hospital, and the 35-year-old believes Sassuolo are ready to take on a Milan side who seem to have turned a corner.

“To play at San Siro always give us extra motivation,” he said, Gazzetta dello.

“But we know that it will be a different game than it would have been a few weeks ago.”

Bonaventura bargain for Roma?

Roma are ready to swoop for Giacomo Bonaventura as a free agent, it’s reported, as his Milan contract is running down.

The versatile midfielder is still only 30 years old, but has barely played for 18 months due to various injury setbacks.

He seems to be fully recovered now and scored a decisive equaliser against Napoli.

Bonaventura’s contract with Milan is due to expire at the end of this season and no agreement has been reached on a new deal.

Giampaolo: 'Milan showed character'

Marco Giampaolo thanked Milan for their “response in terms of character” to overturn Genoa 2-1, while Jack Bonaventura “brought balance.”

It was a do-or-die match for Giampaolo and he went to Plan B after going a goal down, introducing Rafael Leao and Lucas Paqueta, who completely changed the game in an eventual 2-1 win at Marassi.
