Astori: 'Frosinone pitch is slow!'

Davide Astori regrets Fiorentina's draw to Frosinone: 'The pitch was slow, we couldn't play our game'.

The Viola could have won two points on third-placed Roma today, as the Giallorossi drew to Inter, but the opportunity was wasted.

“We're disappointed by this result,” Astori told the Press. “We showed a reaction after last time's terrible performance [Fiorentina-Verona, 1-1].

“Frosinone play on a difficult pitch, where things are slow and the conditions are difficult for those who play the ball.

Euro 2016: Bernardeschi for Insigne

Antonio Conte will reportedly bring Federico Bernardeschi to Euro 2016 instead of Lorenzo Insigne.

The Italy Coach seems to be won over by the Fiorentina man’s work rate and versatility, as he can play as a striker, a supporting figure or out wide on the right.

The 22-year-old has scored only one Serie A goal in 24 games this season, providing four assists.

He has been more prolific in the Europa League, netting four times in seven appearances.

Fiorentina failed upfront

Fiorentina saw their European campaign crash to a halt and George Rinaldi feels their forward line was to blame.

Fiorentina’s Europa League came to a disappointing end after being dispatched by Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on aggregate, and it was the attacking third where the game was won.

Even though la Viola completed the match with more possession (57-43) and more shots (11-9), it was the English side that triumphed on the night at White Hart Lane. Despite the stats favouring the Italians, it was a demoralising and rather negative performance by Fiorentina.
