Bologna rue third Milan goal

Sinisa Mihajlovic’s assistant manager Emilio De Leo admits Milan scoring a goal 40 seconds after the restart “knocked the wind” out of Bologna.

Theo Hernandez had accidentally scored an own goal on the stroke of half-time, making it 2-1, but Giacomo Bonaventura restored the two-goal cushion at the dawn of the second half.

By the time Nicola Sansone converted a penalty for the final 3-2 result, it was too late.

Pioli: 'Milan quality and intensity'

Stefano Pioli sees the 3-2 win at Bologna not as a turning point for Milan, but another step in their progress. “We’ve got quality, but must combine it with intensity.”

There is definitely progress, as this was their best performance of the season so far and a second consecutive victory after a 1-0 win at Parma last week.

Corriere: 'Clubs showed solidarity'

Corriere dello Sport editor Ivan Zazzaroni implies Roma and Milan “started this chaos” around the ‘Black Friday’ headline because of interviews, while “other clubs showed us solidarity.”

The front page story about Friday’s Inter v Roma match featured Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling, so use of the term ‘Black Friday’ was seen as racist.

De Leo: 'Bologna let Mihajlovic down'

Bologna assistant Emilio De Leo admits the team let Sinisa Mihajlovic down after their 4-0 drubbing by Udinese. “He’s certainly not happy.”

De Leo and fellow No 2 Miroslav Tanjga took charge of Bologna again on Wednesday evening, with the side seemingly on a high after their win at Napoli.

However, they were sent crashing out of the Coppa Italia by Udinese and Mihajlovic’s right-hand man promptly apologised to supporters.

“We never make excuses, we’re sorry for the fans,” he said after the game.

Paratici: 'Miha close to Juve job'

Mihajlovic restored his reputation as a top Serie A coach last season, guiding Bologna to safety after failed spells in charge of Milan and Torino.

And Paratici says it was a “relief” to see the Serb back in a dugout.

“It was very nice to see him on the bench, a relief,” he told Tuttosport. “I am a friend of Sinisa’s, a very good friend.
