Mihaljovic 'in very good condition'

The hospital where Sinisa Mihajlovic is undergoing a second round of chemotherapy says the Bologna boss is in ‘very good’ condition.

Mihajlovic completed the first stage of his leukaemia treatment on August 28 and appeared in the dugout for both of Bologna’s opening Serie A games against Verona and SPAL.

It was then confirmed on Monday that the Coach had been readmitted to Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Polyclinic for phase two.

Mihajlovic to re-enter clinic

Sinisa Mihajlovic is going back into hospital today to start a second round of chemotherapy, so won’t be on the Bologna bench against Brescia.

The 50-year-old Serbian was diagnosed with leukaemia over the summer and spent all of pre-season training in the specialist clinic in Bologna.

He was given special permission to venture out early and sit on the bench for their opening Serie A game of the season against Hellas Verona.

Miha was then on leave for the second mate, a late 1-0 victory over Spezia.

Mihajlovic to resume chemotherapy

Sinisa Mihajlovic will not be on the Bologna bench against Brescia next weekend, as he will begin the second round of chemotherapy.

The Coach was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia over the summer and has already completed the first course of chemo.

He kept up to date with his squad by watching training sessions via videolink, giving team talks and was given special permission from his medics to be on the touchline for their opening two Serie A matches against Verona and SPAL.

Mihajlovic given surprise party

Bologna Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was given a surprise homecoming party by his wife Arianna following the first round of chemotherapy.

The Serbian was diagnosed with leukaemia six weeks ago and spent all summer in a clinic undergoing treatment.

He was allowed out for one evening to attend Bologna’s opening Serie A game of the season against Hellas Verona.

Last night, Miha made an emotional return to the Stadio Dall’Ara for their last-gasp 1-0 win over SPAL.

Soriano: 'I scored without looking!'

Roberto Soriano joked he got the Bologna winner against SPAL the one time he “wasn’t looking” at the goal and dedicated it to Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Rossoblu dominated the game at the Stadio Dall’Ara this evening, denied by saves, two goal-line clearances and Soriano’s own finishing.

However, deep into stoppages, Soriano got his head to a Riccardo Orsolini cross – and collided with Thiago Cionek – for the winner.

Mihajlovic released from hospital

Sinisa Mihajlovic is almost certain to take his place in the Bologna dugout against SPAL after completing the first stage of his leukaemia treatment.

Mihajlovic announced on July 13 that he had been diagnosed with leukaemia and was later admitted to Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Polyclinic, where he began his first cycle of chemotherapy.

He made a surprise return to the Bologna bench last Sunday as he watched his side draw 1-1 with Verona in their 2019-20 Serie A opener.
