Mihajlovic: ‘Inzaghi has evolved’

Bologna coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believes his Benevento counterpart Filippo Inzaghi has “evolved” and “changed the way he sees football”.

Inzaghi was sacked by Bologna last year with Mihajlovic coming in as his replacement. “It can happen to anyone,” Sinisa said ahead of his side trip’s to the Vigorito. “He has improved. The most important thing is to learn from the mistakes of the past. He has definitely changed the way he sees football.”

Mihajlovic: 'I would've died...'

Sinisa Mihajlovic insists he ‘would’ve died’ if he hadn’t been able to take a break from leukaemia treatment to sit on the Bologna bench last summer.

The coach was diagnosed with leukaemia in July 2019 and was only able to communicate with his squad and staff during pre-season via phone or videolink from his hospital room.

After chemotherapy, his condition stabilised enough that his doctors allowed him a fervent wish – to attend Bologna’s first Serie A game of the 2019-20 season at the Stadio Bentegodi.

“I know we can do better, but there are eight days left for Milan and we will arrive ready.
