Confirmed: Mihajlovic back for Bologna

Bologna confirmed that Sinisa Mihajlovic has left hospital and will be on the bench against Verona tonight after a course of chemotherapy.

It kicks off at the Stadio Bentegodi at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT), click here for a match preview.

The 50-year-old Serbian has left the clinic in Bologna for the first time in six weeks after a course of chemotherapy.

Rules relaxed for Sarri and Mihajlovic

Maurizio Sarri and Sinisa Mihajlovic will not be on the bench for Juventus and Bologna games, so how will they keep in touch with team and staff?

The Bianconeri announced via a statement this week that Sarri was still undergoing treatment for pneumonia and would not be on the bench for either of the two opening fixtures against Parma and Napoli.

He has been at the Continassa training centre, but in a separate room, watching the sessions via videolink and keeping in touch with his assistants on the phone.

Mihajlovic keeps Bologna on toes

Sinisa Mihajlovic is undergoing chemotherapy, but that hasn’t stopped him giving Bologna players the hair-dryer treatment. “You could hear him shouting through the wall.”

The Coach was diagnosed with leukaemia last month and therefore had to remain in a clinic during his team’s pre-season preparations.

He has remained in contact with staff and squad via video live-streaming and did not hold back on his team talk after a friendly defeat to FC Koln.

Mihajlovic completes first chemo cycle

Sinisa Mihajlovic has completed the first cycle of chemotherapy and will remain in hospital for at least three weeks, confirmed Bologna.

The Coach was diagnosed with acute leukaemia earlier this month and began an aggressive course of treatment.

A statement released this afternoon confirmed Mihajlovic has completed the first cycle of chemotherapy, which began on Thursday July 18, without complications.

The response was as expected from medics at the Istituto Seragnoli in the Sant’Orsola hospital in Bologna.
