Milan's cautious revolution

The latest Milan revolution is more realistic but must continue to cut away the perennial team failures, insists Federico Martone.

Expectations finally seem like they are being managed correctly in the half of Milan that is slowly accepting they have become the Liverpool of Serie A. At the beginning of this season sections of the Italian media, that amazingly included the Berlusconi-owned parts, were tipping Milan to come third. In retrospect that would appear to be a red herring that most of the club's fan base saw through.

M’Baye Niang wants to stay at Milan “for another 10 years” but admits “I made mistakes”.

The French forward joined the Rossoneri in 2012, but had a series of disciplinary problems - including a hit-and-run which injured 11 people - and his time at San Siro appeared to be over when he was loaned to Montpellier in 2014.

However, following another loan spell at Genoa, the 20-year-old has become a key man for Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, and now wants to stay for as long as possible.

The Rossoneri were held to a 0-0 draw by relegation-battlers Carpi on Sunday night, leaving them eighth in Serie A, seven points off the Champions League places.

Tuttosport speculates that Mihajlovic must take six points from the next to League games, Verona at home and Frosinone away to save his job.
