Valero: 'Eriksen only needs time'

Borja Valero believes Christian Eriksen ‘only needs time’ to flourish for Inter and that ‘it’s better if Lautaro Martinez stays’.

Valero began by passing judgment on Inter teammate Marcelo Brozovic, who has become a crucial component for the Nerazzurri in recent seasons.

“In the three years I’ve been playing for Inter, he has grown a huge amount,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Report: No cash for Pogba

Rai Sport claim Juventus are only prepared to exchange players with Manchester United for Paul Pogba, not cash, while Inter could propose Marcelo Brozovic.

The World Cup winner is also wanted by PSG and Real Madrid, as his exit from Old Trafford seems to have been decided already.

According to Rai Sport, Pogba would prefer a return to Juve rather than trying another new experience in France or Spain.

It’s also reported that the offer would only be made up of player exchanges and not include any cash.

Vecino: 'Brozo best player at Inter'

Uruguay international Matias Vecino has claimed Marcelo Brozovic is the best player at Inter and revealed Borja Valero is his closest friend at San Siro.

The 28-year-old has appeared 18 times in Serie A this term and has been challenged by the arrival of Stefano Sensi and Nicolò Barella last summer, but it’s not the new stars that are mentioned when Vecino is asked who is the best player at Inter.

Inter to offer Brozovic contract extension?

Inter will offer midfielder Marcelo Brozovic a contract extension this summer, according to Tuttosport.

Inter so much more than Ibra

Zlatan Ibrahimovic revitalised Milan for 45 minutes, but Inter had a collective to rely on and that will always trump individuals, writes Giancarlo Rinaldi.

It would have been easier, surely, to lie down and accept defeat. Dominated for half the match, missing a couple of key players and trailing by two goals to a side transformed by the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, there were plenty of reasons to raise the white flag. But when you’ve been starved of the Scudetto for so long, you don’t give up without a fight. This Inter side has reserves of character and commitment the club seems to have been lacking for a lifetime.

The importance of being Brozovic

It’s difficult to gauge just how much Marcelo Brozovic brings to this Inter midfield until they have to do without him, argues Tommaso Adami.

The first time Marcelo Brozovic set foot at San Siro was on November 16, 2014, when Croatia played Antonio Conte's Italy in the fourth match of the 2016 European Championship qualifiers. Marcelo, who was turning 22 that day, was then a promising midfielder at Dinamo Zagreb. Little did he he know that, only two months later, that very stadium would become his home and, five years down the line, the opposition's manager would coach him at Inter, making him the pre-eminent midfield pawn in his title-challenging side.

Brozovic out with sprained ankle

Inter have confirmed that Marcelo Brozovic has suffered a sprained ankle and will definitely miss the match against Cagliari this weekend.

The recovery might keep him out for three weeks and he could still be in line to participate in the Derby della Madonnina against Milan on February 9.

“This morning, Marcelo Brozovic underwent an MRI scan at the Istituto Humanitas in Rozzano after suffering an injury during Inter’s match against Lecce,” the club wrote on their official website. “The tests revealed a sprain to his left ankle.
