Corsi: 'Napoli called about Juve!'

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi joked he’s getting “thousands of calls from Napoli” ahead of tonight’s game with Juventus.

Corsi: ‘Juventus are a war machine’

President Fabrizio Corsi says Empoli “will try” to stop Juventus but “they’re a war machine”.

The Bianconeri lead Napoli by three points at the top of Serie A, with the Partenopei Coached by Maurizio Sarri, who took Empoli to Serie A.

The Tuscan travel to Turin this weekend, and the patron is keen to do his former Coach a favour.

“We’ll try to stop Juventus in the next match, even if just putting in a good performance would be nice,” Corsi said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

Empoli President defends Sarri

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi defends Maurizio Sarri after the Napoli Coach was accused of homophobia.

Inter Coach Roberto Mancini accused the Partenopei boss of directing homophobic slurs at him during Tuesday’s Coppa Italia tie.

“I’m disappointed, because we’re talking about someone who is very dear to me,” Corsi told Corriere dello Sport, having employed Sarri from 2012 to 2015.

Corsi: ‘Tonelli can leave’

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi says he ‘would let Lorenzo Tonelli leave with the right offer’ and reveals English interest in Riccardo Saponara.

The two players have been at the centre of much transfer speculation, with Roma today being linked with a move for Tonelli.

The Azzurri’s owner today fuelled the exit rumours in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Every team likes Saponara, he’s destined to be a first choice for many of them,” Corsi said.

'Skorupski stays at Empoli'

President Fabrizio Corsi confirmed that Roma's loaned goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski will continue with Empoli next season.

The stopper was pushed out of the capital by the fierce competition of Morgan De Sanctis and Wojciech Szczesny.

“He is very strong and we have a deal with the Giallorossi to keep him, though still on loan,” said Corsi to Tuttomercatoweb.

“If we don't get relegated, he'll be with us next season too.”

Empoli: 'Tonelli sold in June'

Empoli confirm “Lorenzo Tonelli will certainly not leave in January, but in June he’ll go to the highest bidder.”

The full-back has been linked with both Lazio and Napoli for a mid-season transfer.

“There’s no truth in it, these are ideas dreamed up by journalists,” President Fabrizio Corsi told LaLazioSiamoNoi.

“He certainly will not leave in January, as he is an important player and we won’t lose him at this stage. We want to achieve Serie A safety and he is fundamental for us.

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi says he'll ‘talk to Juventus directors in June’ about Riccardo Saponara.

The attacking midfielder has been linked with a move to the Old Lady as soon as January, but reportedly wants to stay in Tuscany to improve his chances of a place in Italy’s Euro 2016 squad.

“I said that Juventus couldn’t afford Saponara, but it was a joke,” Corsi told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Corsi: ‘Napoli for the Scudetto’

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi is supporting Napoli for the Scudetto “for many reasons.”

Partenopei Coach Maurizio Sarri, as well as players Mirko Valdifiori and Elseid Hysaj swapped Tuscany for Naples this summer.

“I spoke with Sarri 10 days ago, and I was happy because I feel close to him,” Corsi told Radio Crc.

“He’s a person who remains in our history, and we’re struggling to turn the page. We can hardly forget the mark Sarri made, even if the new Coach [Marco Giampaolo] will make his own.

Empoli: 'Saponara unjustifiable'

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi slammed Riccardo Saponara for an “unjustifiable” ban. “He has to realise he’s not playing for Milan now.”

The trequartista is sitting out a three-match Serie A ban after he was sent off for insulting the referee.

“Saponara chose to be a protagonist with us, but he did something unjustifiable,” Corsi told Rete Sport.

“There were pointless protests against Atalanta too. He has to mature and realise he’s not playing for Milan now, where some things are allowed more.

Empoli: 'Fiorentina snubbed Rugani'

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi reveals Fiorentina snubbed the chance to get Daniele Rugani, Eder and Andrea Raggi.

The two clubs are neighbours in Tuscany and often exchange players on loan.

“I continue to take players from Fiorentina, but they do not do the same with Empoli,” Corsi told Radio Blu.

“Rugani could’ve been a Fiorentina player, the same goes for Eder a few years ago and Raggi, who is now the captain of Monaco.
