Milan offer short Donnarumma deal

Milan are ready to offer Gianluigi Donnarumma a contract extension, but only until June 2022 with a pay cut, according to reports.

The goalkeeper’s current deal is due to expire in June 2021, which means the very real risk of losing their most precious player as a free transfer is looming large.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport, they are trying to work out how to if not resolve the issue entirely, then at least postpone it until there is a little more certainty.

Maximiano on Milan wish-list

Milan are targeting Sporting CP goalkeeper Luis Maximiano as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma, claim reports in Portugal, with a €20m offer ready.

Donnarumma is coming towards the end of his contract and the Rossoneri are unlikely to agree a renewal with his current €6m per season salary, so a sale seems a strong possibility.

According to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, they have identified his heir in the form of 21-year-old Sporting Lisbon shot-stopper Maximiano.

Clubs such as Juventus, Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in snapping up Italy international Donnarumma.

Despite the difficulties within the club, Tuttosport claim Donnarumma is eager to remain at Milan and open to signing a new contract extension.
