Antonioli: Olsen wrong for Roma

Former Roma goalkeeper Francesco Antonioli claims Mattia Perin or Gianluigi Donnarumma and not Robin Olsen should have replaced Alisson.

Olsen has already conceded seven goals in his first four games for Roma, while Antonioli kept goal for the Giallorossi during their Scudetto-winning season of 2000-01.

“They were two beautiful evenings and things that you dream of as a kid,” the 48-year-old told Corriere della Sera, referring to when he helped the Lupi beat Real Madrid and draw with them at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League.

Federico Chiesa was born to play for Italy and is undeniably the spark Roberto Mancini needs to revitalise the Azzurri, writes Giancarlo Rinaldi.

It took 70 minutes or so for the penny to drop. Up until then Italy were heading for a sad old start to this new Nations League competition. But then Roberto Mancini played his last card - a little purple ace - and Federico Chiesa came up trumps once again. Some players look born to play for their country, and the boy appears as if he’s been wearing Azzurri blue since his father Enrico first held him in his arms.

It was a renewal of the battle between the pair, as Zielinski put two goals past Donnarumma's Milan in Serie A a fortnight ago.
