Juventus pay tribute to “unmovable and invaluable” Kwadwo Asamoah, as his transfer to Inter is officially confirmed.

It has been known for some time that the Ghanaian was moving to San Siro, with his contract having expired on Saturday.

Today that transfer was officially confirmed, and Juve have paid tribute to the departing left-back.

“Six years, six Scudetti and four Coppe Italia,” the message on the Bianconeri’s website begins.

OFFICIAL: Inter sign Asamoah & De Vrij

Inter have officially signed Kwadwo Asamoah and Stefan de Vrij from Juventus and Lazio respectively.

A statement on Lega Serie A’s official website confirms Asamoah put pen to paper with Inter on May 17.

The Ghanaian, who can play anywhere down the left or in central midfield, joins Inter on a free transfer, having decided against signing a new contract with Juve.

Asamoah made 156 appearances in a six-year spell with the Bianconeri, but injuries limited his impact towards the end of his spell.

Malcom Inter riddle

Inter are investing heavily in promising talent, but is Bordeaux winger Malcom a wise purchase at €40m? Richard Hall takes a closer look.

Inter have not rested on their laurels this summer and have already amassed a number of high-profile signings. This feat is even more impressive, as they have done it whilst managing their Financial Fair Play restrictions and they show little sign of stopping.

Looking to add to their attacking options, the Nerazzurri have turned towards Girondins de Bordeaux and their exciting Brazilian wide man Malcom. Should they manage to secure a deal for him, then arguably this will have been one of their best transfer windows in recent times.

Asamoah: Next team ‘very soon’

Outgoing Juventus man Kwadwo Asamoah has revealed that ‘the team I will be joining will be announced very soon.’

Asamoah has already confirmed that he will leave Juventus once his contract expires on June 30, with Inter the favourites to sign the defender-midfielder.

“Football rumour is something that happens all the time, as a player, teams will approach you, try to make moves but we’re still on it,” the Ghanaian told Citi FM.

Inter should keep before buying

So far in this transfer window, Inter have been remarkably shrewd, but Richard Hall warns some elements are definitely worth sticking with.

Inter director Piero Ausilio was calm and matter of fact when talking about the transfer window. Speaking to SportItalia he discussed potential targets, players he wanted to keep hold of and those of whom he did not know. In fact, the Nerazzurri’s initial moves have looked positive, but there are financial restrictions that still hold them back, despite their dramatic late qualification to the Champions League. The hope is that they can seriously strengthen the squad, but they will have to be shrewd in the way they invest.

Inter revive Blind bid

Inter have renewed their interest in Manchester United and Netherlands left-back Daley Blind.

The 28-year-old is only under contract until June 2019 and was given very little playing time this season, only 17 competitive appearances with one goal and two assists.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri are back in the running for Blind after securing their place in the Champions League for next season.

They have already signed Kwadwo Asamoah as a free agent from Juventus and hope to add Blind to their options at left-back.

Spalletti: ‘Nothing new on contract’

Inter Coach Luciano Spalletti says “there’s nothing new” on his contract situation but assures “I want to stay”.

The tactician’s contract expires at the end of next season, and it was expected that a renewal would be announced last week.

However, at his Press conference the former Roma boss stated that there was no need to extend his current deal, at least not now.

“I have a contract, there’s no news on the renewal, but it’s the same,” Spalletti told RMC Sport.

Asamoah confirms Juve exit

Inter target Kwadwo Asamoah has confirmed that he will leave Juventus this summer.

Explaining the reasons for his departure in an open letter on Twitter, Asamoah revealed it was ‘purely to the interest of his family’ that he called time on his six-year spell with Juve, amidst speculation that he will join Inter once his contract expires next month.

“Neither words nor actions could express the difficulty in taking this decision because I’m immensely proud of my time here,” began the defender-midfielder in a Twitter post.
