Agent: 'Asamoah wants Galatasaray'

Kwadwo Asamoah “wants to join Galatasaray, but Juventus can’t find a replacement,” confirmed his agent.

It has long been reported that the clubs and player agreed basic terms, but the Bianconeri wouldn’t sell until they had brought in his heir.

That was supposed to be Leonardo Spinazzola, who is technically still owned by Juve, but Atalanta are refusing to interrupt the two-year loan deal early.

“He wants to join Galatasaray, but Juve can’t find a replacement,” agent Federico Pastorello told Sportitalia.

Sky Sport Deutschland imply the option is worth €11.5m, so bonuses could well be included.

The German international has been moving closer to a move to Turin over the past few days, but negotiations with his club proved tough.

However, tonight Sky Italia is reporting that a deal has been agreed for a season-long loan worth €3.5m, with an option to buy set at €11.5m.

The deal is expected to be concluded tomorrow, with Howedes taking his medicals on Wednesday.

Galatasaray make new Asamoah bid

Galatasaray have reportedly raised their bid for Juventus wing-back Kwadwo Asamoah to €10m.

The Ghanian international was left out of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for the weekend win over Genoa, suggesting that a move to Turkey was close.

It’s believed the Bianconeri are very close to signing Benedikt Howedes of Schalke 04, and Corriere dello Sport believes the German’s arrival is key to any deal for Asamoah.

Howedes is capable of playing both at left-back and in the centre, so would provide depth in two positions.

Laxalt catches Juve's eye

Diego Laxalt impressed Juventus in Genoa’s 4-2 defeat, perhaps enough to earn him a transfer to Turin rather than Leonardo Spinazzola.

The 24-year-old Uruguay international surged up the left flank repeatedly during yesterday’s Marassi thriller.

According to Sportitalia, he caught the eye of Bianconeri directors and Coach Max Allegri.

Juve made no secret of the fact they were trying to bring back Italy international Spinazzola early from his two-season loan with Atalanta.

Asamoah out of Juventus squad

Kwadwo Asamoah is not in the Juventus squad, as he appears to be moving closer to Galatasaray.

The Ghana international has been repeatedly linked with a move to Turkey, with just a year remaining on his contract in Turin.

Today the Bianconeri announced their squad for tomorrow’s Genoa game, and Asamoah has been left out.

This is being taken as a sign that a transfer is close, and the left wing-back is likely to move to Istanbul before the end of the transfer window.

Lichtsteiner to stay at Juventus

Kwadwo Asamoah is reportedly set for Galatasaray, but Juventus have asked Stephan Lichtsteiner to stay.

The two full-backs have been linked with an exit, but a deal for Asamoah has been delayed by the situation with Leonardo Spinazzola.

Juve want to bring him back early from his loan, but Atalanta won’t release him until they’ve secured a replacement.

According to today’s Corriere dello Sport. Orobici are close to a deal for Genoa’s Diego Laxalt, so once he signs Spinazzola will be free to return to Turin.

Spinazzola key to merry-go-round

Leonardo Spinazzola is at the centre of a transfer merry-go-round involving Diego Laxalt, Kwadwo Asamoah, Juventus, Atalanta, Genoa and Galatasaray.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Spinazzola is holding everything up because Atalanta won’t let him return to Juve a year into his two-season loan spell until they have a suitable replacement.

It was going to be Laxalt, but the Orobici have not yet agreed terms with Genoa over the Uruguay international.
