Inter and Juve target Ndombele staying at Spurs

L’Equipe claims that Juventus and Inter transfer target Tanguy Ndombele has resolved his issues with Jose Mourinho and decided to stay at Tottenham.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a Serie A switch this summer, just a year after his €60m move from Olympique Lyonnais.

His frosty rapport with coach Mourinho was considered one of the reasons why he could move on already.

However, French newspaper L’Equipe now suggests Ndombele is prepared to give Spurs another chance after clearing the air with the former Inter tactician.

Mourinho: 'Serie A would be good for Rose'

Tottenham Hotspur manager Jose Mourinho is in favour of Danny Rose joining Genoa. ‘If he goes to Serie A, I think it’ll be very good for him.’

The 30-year-old left-back had also been linked with Cagliari after his loan spell at Newcastle United, but the latest Sky Sport Italia reports point him towards Genoa.

“If Genoa gets Danny Rose, I think they get a good player,” said Mourinho in a press conference.

Mou and the Treble: 'Inter felt invincible'

Former Inter coach Jose Mourinho admitted the Nerazzurri ‘felt invincible’ before playing Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final 10 years ago.

The Portuguese Tottenham coach spoke to DAZN ahead of the Champions League Final between Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich and feels the German champions’ path has been similar to Inter’s legendary Treble season in 2019-20.

“Oh, it was a long time ago,” Mourinho told the broadcaster. “I think Thomas Müller is the only Bayern survivor from that match…

Italian coaches dominate for a decade

For the first time in Serie A history, the Scudetto has been won by an Italian coach for 10 consecutive seasons.

The last foreign coach to lift the trophy in the Peninsula was Jose Mourinho during the Treble campaign of 2009-10.

He was followed by Max Allegri at Milan in 2010-11, then the Juventus streak took hold from 2011-12.

Antonio Conte was at the helm for Scudetto celebrations in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Allegri then picked up where he left off, becoming the first coach to win five consecutive Serie A titles from 2015 to 2019.

Roma-Inter was a lose-lose situation

A point each felt like a defeat for both Roma and Inter, writes Susy Campanale, but Antonio Conte found yet more reasons to complain.

The 2-2 draw at the Olimpico felt like a loss for both sides. Roma had been leading 2-1 and looking absolutely comfortable until Leonardo Spinazzola conceded one of the strangest penalties you are ever likely to see. Inter had originally gone in front and could certainly complain at the Aleksandar Kolarov challenge on Lautaro Martinez which sparked the equaliser on the stroke of half-time. Just as quickly as the Scudetto dream loomed back into view, it had evaporated again.

Conte v decades of Crazy Inter

Antonio Conte’s toughest job was always going to be changing the ‘Pazza Inter’ mentality, but Richard Hall explains why he’s not quite there yet…

The only thing ‘Pazza’ about Inter last night was that they were ‘crazy good’. In a night when Inter played as Antonio Conte intends them to, they swept aside a hapless Brescia side 6-0. The result showed that even with extreme rotation, the squad should have what it takes to push Juventus and Lazio all the way, but the key is always consistency. The coach will have to achieve this if he is to convince the fans that the culture of imploding has gone for good. Already, since football returned, Inter have shown signs it has not gone just yet.

Sheva: 'Inspired by Ancelotti & Mou'

Andriy Shevchenko credits Carlo Ancelotti for inspiring him and others at Milan to become coaches and reveals ‘I learned many things from Jose Mourinho’.

While Shevchenko is currently Ukraine CT, Gennaro Gattuso recently won the Coppa Italia with Napoli, Cristian Brocchi has taken Monza into Serie B and Filippo Inzaghi will return Benevento to the top flight.

As well as all of them plus the likes of Clarence Seedorf, Massimo Oddo and Jaap Stam playing for Milan in the 2000s, they were also coached by Ancelotti.

Only in Serie A: Mourinho's handcuffs

Jose Mourinho may be renowned for his turn of phrase, but a particular gesture at Inter arguably spoke louder than any soundbite...

Words: Livio Caferoglu

Inter’s 2009-10 campaign will go down as the greatest in the club’s history, but it wasn’t without controversy. Indeed, there was a point in the season when Jose Mourinho threatened to derail it with his crusade against referees. Throughout his career, the Tottenham Hotspur boss has regularly adopted a siege mentality as a way to fire up his troops in battle. Nowhere more so was that evident than on the blue side of San Siro, where he dared to pick a fight with the FIGC.

Mourinho: 'I knew we'd win after Barca'

Jose Mourinho ‘knew’ Inter would win the Champions League after beating Barcelona, admits being ‘harsh’ on his team and claims hugging Marco Materazzi meant ‘embracing all the Nerazzurri players’.

On this day in 2010, Inter completed the historic Treble with a 2-0 win against Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final.

The Portuguese tactician and the current Tottenham Hotspur coach spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his relationship with the club and the players and why he immediately left after the campaign.

Tagliavento: 'If I'd had VAR in my career...'

Former referee Paolo Tagliavento admits VAR would’ve allowed him to avoid ‘the five worst errors of my career,’ including the infamous Sulley Muntari phantom goal.

That incident was one of the main reasons why goal-line technology was introduced, as during a Scudetto showdown at San Siro in February 2012, Muntari’s shot for Milan was palmed away by Gigi Buffon, but only after it had crossed the Juventus line.
